Suffering Low T 15 Years After Teenage Steroid Use, Labs Included

@systemlord @highpull @hardartery @darkdescartes @ncsugrad2002

Guys I have got back my latest blood reports please have a look and advice this is after 7 weeks on 25mg EOD

This test has been done by a different lab so i have a slight issue figuring it out.

But on the whole after being on TRT for more than 7 months and trying EOD injections I feel that TRT might not be the solution for me since I don’t feel much different on it and sex drive also isn’t great again.

I am thinking of getting off TRT , please advice guys on your views .

Also how do you advice to go off TRT ?

Is going off cold turkey after 7months advisable?

Do you think things will be any better off trt.

There are people who struggle for 2-5 years before getting it right. It sucks for some that way.

You’re going to need to increase your dose however. Your free testosterone is pretty weak.

Given your current dose and symptoms, I would increase your testosterone based on your symptoms. Since you have labs with numbers, keeping in mind your symptoms are more important than the range, consider this regarding the numbers. Your free testosterone was out of range low and is now slightly below mid range, while your total testosterone went from low normal in range to high normal in range. Your dose is low and usually a waste of time and though it has increased your levels, it’s just not enough. To feel better, you may need to double free testosterone so it is at the high end of the range and that means increasing your dosage. I would talk it over with your doctor.

Guys do it. Some using AAS/PEDs would run cycles that long and stop.

What would you advice for dosing increase if I’m taking 25mg EOD now since I am not consulting any doctor now.

My previous blood reports had everything dialed in pretty much Injecting Twice a week but still didn’t feel great , so I thought maybe EOD would be better but it’s not .

which is why I was thinking maybe TRT is not a good thing for me??

Well i’ve been on for a year and i haven’t dialed in yet. I never once thought that trt wasn’t for me.

It’s a game of trial and error.

i just read on Dbossa’s facebook group of a man who couldn’t figure out TRT for 10 years until he tried Dr. Mark Gordon’s low dose approach. He started injecting 30mg twice a week and within 4-5 months, he was dialed in.

We’re all just trying to figure out what our bodies like.

Where you want to go from here is up to you.

You can increase the dosing. You can change frequency to 3x weekly, daily, etc.

However if you don’t mind EOD, then increase it by 10-20mg and see how you feel in another 8 weeks or so.

It’s most likely going to take months before you feel better so don’t rush in and out of protocols

I’d go to 40mg if you are staying with qod. I think I would also look for a TRT doctor to help you.

I understand and it is very frustrating. There is no one size fits all approach. I do think the concept of “dialing in” is overemphasized. If you were not feeling good then I don’t care what your numbers are. Yes, labs are a guide, but not the end all. Guys end up freaking out over their fluctuations and levels when naturally there are significant fluctuations anyway.

Yes, stopping is always an option and you certainly could. I’m not sure I would give up though, especially at your age.

Actually it’s just making me think if TRT is helpful in anyway and the problem is not something else

Because so far TRT has not really done anything for much me apart from bloating and better libido for a short while

I agree with Highpull and Barryallan, up your dose a little. Your Free T isn’t great.

I’m trying to understand how would upping my dose help since I was already on a higher dose earlier with not much difference … would upping the dose with EOD be the difference in help ?

Because I feel TRT probably made a 5 -10 percent difference to my feeling of well being till now which is what is making me reconsider …please help me out

I would be happy to continue and experiment with TRT and not think of ever giving up if even for a short while I felt that it really made a difference ,but sadly doesn’t seem so

Which is why I’m in this current dilemma whether to continue or not :persevere:

Well firstly, looking back on your labs, you have low testosterone, especially free testosterone.

Getting off of trt i doubt would make a positive difference.

You’ve also been fucked up for about 15 years, its going to take some time to get back into homeostasis.

You gave us labs which showed lackluster free testosterone, based off that, we suggest upping your dose.

You may not be on the right frequency either, who knows?

Like we said, this is trial and error.

I suggest stick with EOD to keep the consistency and follow @highpull’s advice of 40mg. If another 2-3 months go by and nothing really improves, maybe try daily.

You could also do better on creams.

There’s a bevy of reasons and avenues to go through on TRT. It doesn’t help to give up so easily.

@barryallan1
You said you’ve been on TRT for over a year and haven’t dialed in yet.

Have you noticed any significant improvements to well being even if briefly ?

I am asking because I don’t think I have noticed anything much to continue experimenting on myself with TRT and am trying to find reasons to justify staying on TRT.

I am worried I may end up doing more harm than good in the long run!

Although For now I have increased dosage to 40mg eod as per @highpull recommendation

Once again, you’ve been fucked up for 15 years. What long term damage are you concerned about?

You do more harm with having bad testosterone levels than with good.

And when i was not on testosterone after i got off my last cycle, i suffered panic attacks incessantly. I was ALWAYS tired and unmotivated. I felt REALLY empty and super sad. Also my libido was shot, my refractory period was about a week if i was lucky.

I feel better overall but I’m no where near optimal. I tended to switch up a lot and it never helped. I wish there was a quick fix but my mind is ready for the long haul. it’s just going to take time.

E3D may not work for me, i may need EOD, ED or even cream. This dosage may be too high for all i know. Maybe i need 50mg a week. Maybe i need 2000 total test before i feel good. Shit, maybe i need to take thyroid hormone in the end.

There’s too many variables for me to consider.

I’m much better off being on test than not, now i need to figure out how to get optimized.

Thanks for your time Barry appreciate it,
I see you seem to have gotten some benefits off TRT ,but I don’t think I have gotten anything much out of it over 7 months … which is making me question if my problem maybe mental or something else not related .

think I’ll just stick with the increased dose another 8 weeks before stopping if I don’t feel it’s worth it

This is really frustrating.

what do you possibly think could be causing your below normal testosterone and abysmal free testosterone?

You seem to think you’re going to find this magical cause after 15 years thats going to bring you levels back to optimization.

Well my tests used to be like above for years and all docs said it was normal … so after being on TRT all these months and feeling not much better makes me think maybe it’s something else ???

If you’ve been on the forums long enough, doctors ALWAYS say its normal.

Your body could literally be producing 0 testosterone and your doctor will say “give it 6 months and come back.”

Do you look at these test levels and think these are healthy? Did you feel healthy those 15 years?

These forums exist because people like you and me didnt magically feel better by injecting. Well i had the honeymoon phase but its been hard to get back to that.

This shit is an art and it takes time and experimentation.

Plus having healthy testosterone levels could just be part of one puzzle for us, we don’t know yet.

But i guarantee my life savings that if you got off testosterone, a year from now you’ll be back on these forums saying how you’re giving this TRT thing another go.

The key is to keep a good attitude and keep on pushing. Get healthy levels of testosterone and explore other areas if necessary.

@dextermorgan one of our most dialed in members, had a year plus worth of troubles getting dialed in but he finally got it. i remember his story any time i get frustrated and it reminds me that just because I haven’t figured it out now, doesn’t mean i wont in the near future.

Just gotta stay consistent.

Thanks Barry for the Advice and motivation guess I needed it …I know docs keep saying everything fine no matter what, been through it enough!
