Subq Needle Length Long Enough? How to Tell?

Hi all. I have typically done IM injections in the past, but i am now starting doing 300mg a week subq. Took first pin a couple days ago with a 0.5x 26G needle. Do you think thats long enough to get it all jn the subq space effectively? The needle just looks so short, im paranoid that its not deep enough. Is there a way to tell for sure, aside from waiting weeks and checking my T levels? Will there be some kind of irritation or reaction if its in only the dermis?

Side question: since this is my first time subq, is there a difference in how long it will take to start noticing the effects? In the past whenever ive gone IM, i start noticing faint results in mood and libido around a week or two and full blown effects at the 2-3 week mark. I know its just anecdotal, but what are you guys thoughts on timeline based on your experience?

Sub Q is just literally getting it under the skin layer. The needle length can be quite shallow and .5" is fine. No idea on the second question. 300mg/wk for TRT?

Golf ball sized lumps.

No pain.

No gain.

I commented that because my first cycle I did 325 mg/wk of Test E subQ. I had a lot of lumps in my stomach. I was kinda fat at the time so it wasnā€™t visible really, but they were lumps that also hurt.

I split that into 3 shots and still got lumps. IDK if OP is planning on one shot a week or multiple?

How much were you injecting subQ in one site?

IIRC, I was doing M,W,F injections of 100, 100, and 125 mg of Test E 250. So 0.4 mL on M and W, and 0.5 mL on Friday.

It really depends on the oil and BA content, but I would not go over .25ML subQ of IM worthy sauce per site if you want to minimize knotting.

I just do shallow IM these days. I havenā€™t had pip once in the lats. Not easy to pin, but at least for me, painless.

In my time Iā€™ve injected IM in my glutes, lateral quadriceps, lateral gastroc, lateral deltoid, upper pectoral (in the ultimately vain attempt to site specifically affect the muscle (before I understood about endocrine, paracrine and autocrine signal transport messengers). Iā€™ve IV administered HGH, and SC administered both water based substances and oil based.

Testosterone esters are DESIGNED to form boluses, or depots, from which the ester is broken down one carbon atom at a time, releasing the testosterone molecule in a time release fashion, hence why Enanthate takes longer than acetate to act; there are more H-C-H-R groups in the ester chain.

So SC WILL form a bolus under the skin, (as all SC injections do anyway) and ~1.5ml of oil will be quite poignant.
