I have an apt for tomorrow. Will post results ASAP.
I am just waiting for my results. I will post ASAP.
As promised from a lot of the gentlemen on this forum to do subcutaneous injection I had gone ahead and done that. There were promises of increase testosterone and promises of a lower estrogen.
To my pleasure all these theories were right.
I have just received my blood work and not only did my testosterone go up about 80 points but also my estrogen went down. (not sure if good. Read below)
I think the symptoms I was showing were because of going from intramuscular injection to subcutaneous. Because of the absorption rate is different it took time for it to take effect.
Symptoms are gone now
Although I still feel that my estrogen is too high. The test from quest diagnostics that was asked to be performed I believe was not the ultrasensitive estrogen test.
This test has a reference range of less than or equal to 39 as being in the normal range. My result was a 17.
In the comments section of the estrogen test it states “abnormal results for this test will not appear in the out of range column.”
Also "reference range established on post pubertal population. Non-prepubertal reference range established using this assay. For any patients home low Estrodial levels are anticipated (E.G.males, prepubertal children, and hypogonadal post menopausal females). The quest diagnostic Nichols Institute Estrodial, Ultra sensative, LCMSMS assay is recommended. Order code 30289x.
So did I take the wrong estrogen test?
I am very active and very fit and work out six times a week tons of cardio weight training and MMA. Normally with being this kind of active my weight would come off very quickly. But I feel I am holding a more weight especially in Female fat patterns. This is why I feel my estrogen is high I do not have achy joints or any symptoms of the low estrogen.
I am not taking anything for estrogen yet. Should I? I feel like I should. Should I get more tests?
I am currently dosing 100 mg of testosterone cypionate broken into injections two times a week subcutaneously
Good deal! Glad it is working for you. I believe that the longer your on T the better you start to feel(In a lot of cases). As far as your E goes I’m not familar enough with the testing methods to give you a answer, maybe someone else will chime in.
Thanks for the Nice words. Any one else wanna chime in?
You have the right test. Quest changed their range on the 4021x last year from 13-54 or whatever it used to be to 0-39. 17 on that scale is probably fine–certainly not too high. If you are on an AI, you might want to knock it back a bit and see if you react favorably, but since you say your symptoms are gone, I wouldn’t bother fucking around with it.
I’m not on an AI. You think I should just keep it That way? No need to add an AI right. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. ?
Glad to hear you are feeling well again!
I think the key is not changing anything without getting labs done first. Your labs show an acceptable level of E2, so you are right, probably do not need to do anything since you are sympto free. But follow up with labs in another few months, especially if any symptoms creep up. Although this time it turned out to be your body adjusting to SQ vs IM, next time it oculd be E2 levels, or something else.
Also, has anyone confirmed with you if 50mg is too much for SQ? It sounds like your T levels are doing ok, but I am still curious if there is any documented information on the maximum recommended amount of T for SQ injections…
From what I’ve read on this forum and other sites they suggested not going over 50mg. So far I haven’t had any issues. Depending on where I inject I get a small bump redness usually in soft skinned areas it subsides after a few days. At this point I am feeling back to normal (trt normal).
Going to randomly jump in here after this thread has been dead. Found it online after searching for symptoms of tiredness after starting subq, because that’s what I’m experiencing after a week.
It’s possible that the problem wasn’t the slower release of the subq route, but that your E2 dropped considerably lower than 17 when you started subq, which will make anyone feel tired and have libido problems.

I have read before some people noticed a little red dime size lump form near or at the injection site. I had only administered 50 mg of testosterone cypionate. This lump has slowly subsided but my question is to you geniuses what techniques can I do or use to minimize or get rid of this red lump I received through my subcutaneous injection? [/quote]
This same thing happens to me as well. It goes away in about two days every time. After going SubQ with more frequency my labs have jumped up to a total test of 1640. My free test was over 500. My doc said that I don’t need test any longer because of this reading. I told them that it’s this way due to my meds and I need to continue. I can’t get over the silliness of the medical world sometimes.

How much were you injecting and how often, and how long did it take to reach these numbers?
Anyone still on this thread? I am currently taking 200mg 1 x week and would like to go to 100mg x week and go the sub-Q route. Don’t want to have a negative effect on the way I feel or on my counts but IM twice a week sounds awful. I have read mixed reviews so I’d like some enlightenment here. I’m a bit old school and used to take T in large amounts in college so the idea of sub-Q for TRT seems really strange.
32 M, decent physical shape. Had lots and lots of chemo therapy and one testicle removed because of testicular cancer, so low T levels have become an issue now years later. Counts before TRT were 129 for T level.
Hope that’s enough back story and there are still folks on here!
Most people report they feel better. There are different schools of thought on absorption, but it mostly seems like bro-science and guys not giving sub-q a chance. The idea is smaller amounts, more shots. More shots isn’t a big deal since you basically don’t even feel the small syringe go in. Result can be more stable levels and less conversion to estrogen.
Did you have a specific question or just want support? Some of the biggest names in TRT recommend it. If you are going deep IM, then likely your syringes are too big. Get some insulin syringes and try it for a month or two. Worst case, you can go back to old regimine.
I personally use .5ml, 29g, 1/2 into a pinch of fat few inches left or right of belly button. I do it every other day.
