I am going to give your friend the benefit of the doubt here (because she is probably hot) and assume she ment what day of the week is the 4th on.
Anyhoo, here’s a couple.
I moved to the States from Scotland when I was a sophmore in high school, on my first day I had the following conversation with some girl:
G: Where are you from?
Me: Scotland
G: Where’s that at?
Me: In the UK right above England?
G: Where’s that at?
Me: Um in Europe
G: Cool! What language do you speak there?
Me: English
G: Where did you learn to speak American?
Me (realizing this is going to be useless) My Dad is American
G: (turning to her friends) Hey, this guys from Sweeden
Girls Friend: Cool! Do you speak Sweedish?
One more, my roommate my freshman year of college was a Palestinian from Jerusalem. At dinner one evening one of the guys asked him if they have cars in Israel. His response was great:
“No, we ride camels to school you stupid son of a bitch”
For a year or so, I worked in the call center for an electric company, I had a guy call me one time irate because he had just received his electric bill:
“You guys are trying to rip me off, how is it possible to use more than 24 kilowatt hours in a day?”

In high school during American History, we were discussing the Pilgrims. I happen to be a 13th generation Mayflower descendant and A member of the Mayflower Society. I mentioned this and a schoolmate asked/said “Well, duh, we’re ALL related to the Pilgrims!”
Sooooo, the Pilgrims discovered and populated North America did they?
Ok here’s one, back in 1995 to 2000 I was stationed in Kaneohe, Hawaii.I was talking to this girl I was interested in that I meet when I was in Memphis, Tennesse. While talking to her she asked :
Girl: When are you coming back to the United States?
Me: Ummm Hawaii is the 50th state, you did know that right?
I grew up on a farm in western kansas. I’ve been asked if I rode a horse to work, and if the indians bother us. I usually respond that I drive a pickup to work and that the indians don’t bother us because we always carry our trusty military blankets to ward them off because they are scared of military blankets.

To Prof. X and whoever else said something similar, the question of whether or not you worked out is not as stupid as you would make it seem. I know several guys who are 250-300 lbs and have “weight training” physiques yet have never touched a barbell in their lives. They all work in physical labor jobs and built their bodies that way. So cut these people some slack. You can build plenty of muscle and a ton of strength without ever entering the gym.

Dude, get real. I want you to show me some 300lbs people who look like bodybuilders or regular weight lifters but never see the inside of a gym. Get to it. We need pictures.
While manual labor can often put some amount of muscle on people, you would be hard pressed to find someone of average height weighing over 250lbs relatively lean without ever lifting a weight.

Don’t get me wrong, none of these guys are shredded, but most of them sit between 12-15% BF. Also, it’s not like they were small to begin with, most were around 6’2" and 235-240 before they began working in their respective jobs. A lot of these guys have good genetics, both for size and strength and many were football players 15 years ago.
Anyways, I know one guy, “Big Brian,” who is about 6’5" and 350-375lbs with about 18-20% BF and makes most world’s strongest man competitors look relatively small. He was a lineman for Arizona State some years ago and was only stopped from going pro by a knee blowout.
Getting back around to my point, there are plenty of guys who never lift weights who have physiques that are better, or at least bigger, than a great deal of avid gymgoers. It’s not necessarily the norm, but there are plenty of naturally large men out there.

Considering the many people in gyms lately doing absolutely nothing but taking up space, that really isn’t saying much. Every guy on my dad’s side of the family is “naturally large”. Most of them either played football or boxed.
Again, there is a huge difference between some guy who is just “big” like the guys in that photo and some guy who is developed over 250lbs at AVERAGE height. I’m 5’11", not 6’5". Your original post implied that people are walking around looking like regular weight trainers without going to the gym.
The guys in that photo don’t look “built”. They look “big”. There is a “big” difference.

And cool photo btw.[/quote]
Agreed. Don’t take that as insult to the guys in the photo but I seriously doubt people are mistaking any of them for “bodybuilders” or people who spend a lot of time in the gym. I ahve no doubt many of them might be naturally strong, however.

Thanks for the compliment Chinadoll.
And to the Prof.
Yes, they are all extremely strong. The man to my right recently took a bet that he couldn’t carry 8 five gallon buckets of carpet glue across the warehouse by himself. Each bucket weighed about 50 lbs. Long story short, he won the bet, holding the handles of four buckets in each hand. How’s that for grip strength?
And the guy to his right has loaded a 12’x50’ roll of vinyl from the ground up onto his shoulder and walked about 50 yards with it. FYI, the roll weighed in the neighborhood of 375-425 lbs.
Well, that’s it for now. But I do agree, none of them look like off season BBers, but I would bet they’re stronger than anyone I’ve ever ran into in the gym (not that that’s saying much).
Also, I’d take their looks over almost any others any day.
