Holy Shit that was funny - you made me spit my fucking protein shake through my capitalist nose!

Edit: After re-reading that I definitely could have found a different way of saying that! FML[/quote]

Sorry AC, but this point is no more valid. I like the way it drives and I don’t give a sweet shit what anyone else thinks about it.

Furthermore, anyone who perceives that a Volkswagen conveys status is a moron and their perception doesn’t interest me.

Just my $0.02

Volkswagen is a people carrier (I think that’s what it means in German anyway) and in most parts of Europe is considered a mundane car, rest of the world the price is high and conveys some status. I don’t think it conveys status but I am told they are fucking reliable which is a good thing.

PS - I want a GTI!

Man, you guys LOVE shitting all over my examples, missing the forest for the trees… Jeez!

I was kinda going more for BMW/Mercedes/Porsche/Audi… not VW, Smart, etc…

I used to have a BMW (330i, six speed, sport package) A few cars before that I had an Acura Integra Type R. They both drove GREAT. The Integra’s B18C5 engine kicked ass for a 4 banger and handled beautifully. The BMW was… well… it was a BMW with a six speed and a sport package… need I say more?

When I drove the BMW, (and I had a Lexus too) I tended to get A LOT more attention. AND it drove well. My status was DEFINITELY perceived as higher when I drove that car. From the way colleagues treated me, to women, to valets at restaurants, people in parking lots and gas stations, etc… Whether you like it or not, status exists. You may not give a sweet shit about it, but many people do.

For the record, I got rid of the “luxury cars” because I decided not to invest any of my hard earned money into a depreciating asset. These days I drive a 98 Toyota Corolla with a broken door handle. Cuz I REALLY don’t give a sweet shit what anyone thinks.

Sorry AC, but this point is no more valid. I love the fact that Corollas are the epitimy of fuel efficiency and aid in the slowing of global warming!

Furthermore, anyone who perceives that driving a Corolla conveys the notion that you don’t give a shit is a moron. You obviously give a shit about the environment and Polor Bears, Rhinos, Leopards, sumatran tigers, komodo dragons, Tapir, Seladang, leatherback turtles and the Japanes Ibis. I don’t give a sweet shit about people who pretend not to give a sweet shit about the sweet little polar bears therefor your perception does not interest me!

Just my $0.02

^ you are the valet!

For someone like me who doesn’t drink coffee, Starbucks is good for public bathroom, that’s it. Interesting for me to come home to this thread, as I just took a shit at Starbucks. I have a feeling they are gonna bust me pretty soon.

Whoah. I drive a 98 camry with a broken door handle. I swear to you I have endless fun with people trying to get in on the passenger side. I unlock with the power locks and people are so conditioned to get in after that noise they ALWAYS TRY AND OPEN THE DOOR! Jokes on them I guess cause thats the door thats broken.
