Stupid Clothing Companies

I was at Banana Republic the other day and tried on their version of XXL sweater. I felt like a human sausage. I thought that it might be just the cut of that sweater and tried on other stuff, but it was all ridiculously small. Abercrombie & Fitch is even worse.

Is it a coincidence that the most popular and trendy stores have fits designed for scrawny guys? Welcome to the manarexification of America.[/quote]

Agreed. Although I don’t know that there was ever a time America was not ‘manarexified’. I don’t think there was ever a time muscularity approached the norm. Most clothing lines don’t reflect it but probably more now than ever.

I go to champs for my shirt to get long tees although they still come to well below my hips half way down my thighs, they fit my shoulders better then the ones where the shoulder seams are above my shoulders.

Also, I had a suit and now it doesn’t fit, I went to go get one tailored to me that was fun when he saw my measurements on arms and stuff.

You need to go to a little italian immigrant, they do the best work. It is a little more costly. I couldn’t get a real expensive suit but it still makes me look like I’m in the mob. I like the mob.

jeans are a pain too.

Anyone who has significant squaters ass knows what I am talking about. The jeans are probably 2-3 inches to big at the waist yet they are held up by and tight around your glutes. Trying to find something that fits well at the waist and around the ole’ behind at the same time is almost impossible.

Buy them a little tight and soak in a warm tub with them. I’ve done that with my quad/glute area for ages.

Try being a girl who’s 5’8" and needs a 34" inseam and has wide shoulders. Its fine for jeans or whatever but virtually all female business wear is cut for a 5’4" woman (the average height) with big hips and small shoulders. After suffering in flood pants and flat shoes for years my husband was determined to find me some nice suits. We went to a big city and hit every high-end business wear store we could find, prepared to spend whatever it took. I still couldn’t find a thing that fit.

I finally found one suit that was not too bad. I paid $500 for it and still had to get it tailored. I hate clothes shopping because it is always so disappointing. I’m not that tall. You would think there would be enough of a market out there that they could make some longer pants.

I’m 5’8" and have a 34-36" inseam, too. I’ve got long arms, broad shoulders, zippety-doo-dah for hips and not much boobage. L.L. Bean has what they call medium tall and some of their slacks fit. The shirts are a no-go, though. Western wear styles fit. I look like a cowgirl at times, but I’m not in floods.

I also sew my own stuff. I’ve been sewing since I was small. Tailored stuff? Can do. For myself, not for others, though. I’ll get a commercial pattern and make adjustments based on measurements before I ever even do the first test fit.

Yeah, I went to the store the other day to find some nice jeans to wear out. Everything fit like hip huggers or had rips in the knees. Even the baggy fit was tight in the hips. I measure at 44 in the hips and 32 in the waist. I don’t really have a problem with shorts. It is really gonna suck when my hips get even bigger. I know it will happen with my uber wide squat stance. I have always been a Levis kind of guy, should I look into some designer jeans? Any ideas?

Sevens are ok. Certain cuts. Others are clearly for anorexics. But I promise you even in their liberal cuts you’ll still need to buy a size that’s big in the waist and get it in taken in and wear a belt if you have decent leg and glute development.

man…clothes suck.

I def hate wearing suits cause they are always tight around the back whenever i sit down or shake someons hand. Not to mention when i even begin to raise my hand, the cuff floats up to my elbow in like two frikin seconds, its a load of crap i tell ya, a 250 dollar load of crap…
