I need to dress professionally at work and am having some difficulty finding dress/casual pant that are big enough in the thighs and glutes without being 4 inches too big in the waist and requiring altering. I usually wear a 31 waist and 31 inseam, yeah I have short legs.
What brands have you found that fit people who do squats?
I also have the same problem. Each quad is 27" around and my waist is only about 34" around. I have found the only dress pants that I can wear for work are Slates Gabardine Double Pleats. Slates is a Levi’s brand and they have a bunch of different styles of Slates but these are the only ones that fit.
I can’t help being as how I don’t own dress pants, but I have a 31" waist and a 28" inseam… now who is talking about short legs??? My solution is to walk on the heels of my pants until they are worn away and fit properly… this onnly works if you have nobody to impress/don’t care what people think.
Yeah I know it is stupid to brag that my legs are shorter… but dammit thats all I got
they don’t sell lengths greater than 34" in normal stores so for my pants i have to order them, try them on and send them back if i don’t like them. it took me about 2 years to get a good solid rotation of pants that fit me.
You think you’ve got problems? At least they expect ment to be somewhat athletic. Women’s clothing is horrible. I don’t know what kind of female body they have in mind, but I sure am glad I don’t have it. Little stick arms with tiny armholes, pants that are thin in the legs and to big in the waist - and always too short (and I’m not that tall). If I expect it to fit my shoulders and arms, it’s gonna be huge in the waist. Nothing ever fits well.
Then there’s my husband; 6’6, 270. 39 inch inseams, and size 15 shoes. Try clothing that!
Sully, for a casual pant try “Dickies” with the cell phone pocket. They are more generous in the leg and they are cheap at Target $24-$25. They also look like nice kakis and you never need to iron them.
I wear a 32X32, so it isnt that hard to find pants that should fit, but they never do. I can’t even pull most 34s up to my waist, then if I do, I look like someone is going to join me in there (but that might be in inapprotpriate at work). I did just buy a few pair of Izod dress pants (chinos more or less), and they have more room in the legs and ass than any others that I have tried. They are the only ones that I am going to buy from now on, but they don’t make suits, so you can’t go to them for that.
30" waist
29-30" inseam
Just try finding dress pants in those sizes at Hechts, Kohls or anywhere else for that matter.
The few 30"w I find have a 34+" inseam…
The few 30"i I find usually have a 32+" waist…
And trying to hem nice pants that much just screws up how they look.
When I do find them they are always tight on the quads. The other day I found four 30" inseam pants that fit my legs alright…with a 40" waste!!!
Sully - they don’t just make custon clothing, tailors also adjust clothes that don’t fit right. Many decent department stores have them on staff or you can go to a local dry cleaner, they may have a tailor.
Waist size isn’t the real trouble. Length is the real problem. Being 6’8’’ with a 38 inch waist and a 36+ inseam is really irritating. Apparently all clothing companies believe if you’ve got a 38 inch waist, you’re a short fat guy. I can’t find anything over 32 inseam in a 38 waist unless I go online.
See, that’s why you have to stick to baggy shorts and t-shirts.
At work I have been slowly creeping from very nice casual to baggy cargos, light sport sweaters, and “nice” t-shirts. They haven’t said anything yet. I probably shoudln’t wait until they do; then its too late.
