Study: Possible Mechanism in Metabolic Syndrome

Recent research may have reveled the biochemical mechanism linking hypertension, insulin resistance and immune suppression. I thought it was interesting so thought I’d pass it along.

“The researchers found that protein receptors on the surface of SHR cells become clipped off as the animals develop hypertension. They used a novel visualization technique to show that after several weeks of ingesting doxycycline in their drinking water, the SHR rats developed cells that again bristled with normal CD18 and insulin receptors. The animals?? metabolic conditions simultaneously improved; blood pressure normalized and symptoms of immune suppression disappeared.”

Now if we could just get our hands on some ‘doxvycycline’. Next Biotest supp? :stuck_out_tongue:

Good read, appreciate that !!

Doesn’t really sound like something one would like to use as a supplement

It is an antibiotic

So does that mean it’s OFF label use was to re-grow those receptor sites? Interesting read.
