Thanks for your comments…it may be that shmaltz is what I do best!, I honestly started out to write something obsevational and “Jack Handy-ish” and ended up with a Hallmark moment…not sure how it happened…I will have to delete the “Renegade” reference (too vague for polite society) and yes, if I personalize the relationship it could jack up the cheese just enough for a good Fathers Day piece. I will post the final version when it is done.
Thanks again for your kind words!

Wooaa! That couldn’t have been more on point with my relationship with my old man if you had known me personally. It’s a hard thing to see a man who’s been recongnized his entire life as being “a whole different breed”. When I was younger I’d work with him and couldn’t wait to be stronger than him. He used to joke about how he’ll always be able to kick my ass (he will). Now when I work with him (I’m 23, he’s 55) it’s like a contest in everything we do and it feels more like he’s my freind than anything. He’s a great man… just hope he feels the same about me some day.
You lift weights? Wow, didn’t know.
Great article/story/parable.
When I was a kid I though being an adult was being able to eat 2 Big Macs, a large fry, and a large shake like my dad could.
