Strong Enough to Correct Them

Snap - Thanks! Yeah. Training is going well. So is the eating so the abs aren’t as crisp. Need to put some cardio back into the mix.

James - Yeah. It’s funny cause normally my leg sessions have been awesome and everything else suffered. Now it’s kinda reversed. I’ll take it though.

Tonight - Shoulders

Partner bailed at 3pm.

A. Prone DB Rear Laterals
5 x 15 @ 20lb’rs

B. Machine Reverse Flyes
5 x 12 x 105

C. Millie’s
5 x 95/105
3 x 5 x 115
**Millie’s felt great.

D. Seated OH DB Press
15 x 50lb’rs
3 x 12 x 60lb’rs

E. Meadows Side Partial Complex
**too hard to explain

F. Reverse Cable Flyes
3 x 20

G. Alt. Arm Cable Front Raises
3 x AMAP

Finished with 20min LI cardio.

Toughest part of session: Lifting my arms over my head to take my shirt off

Weird pain in (what I think is) my SI joint. Maybe too much rolling??

Went in to do some active recovery tonight.

Decided to do a ME Bench session

Bench
5 x 95/135/155
3 x 185
1 x 205/225/235
0 x 250 **fail. Stick at about 3 inches off the chest.
1 x 235/225

45 Pullups (various grips - most NG or CG) in about 7 sets. I didn’t REALLY keep track of sets.

35min Incline T-Mill @ 3.7.

haha, that’s quite a change. I have the same sticking point.

Board Presses[/quote]

Doing them. And floor presses. And reverse bench.
Progess but it is sloooowwwww.

Hmmmmm…active recovery…ME bench day…pretty close in theory…

How did the shoulders feel?

james

nlmain - LOL! I didn’t know I had fans but I’ll produce a vid for you guys.

git - I need to add Board Presses back in. I’m a little hesitant to do so @ the commercial place I’m at (since it’s pretty much a PF) but maybe I will just to piss off mgmt and get some strange looks.

kev - Thanks buddy. Funny how the grass seems to always be greener on the other side.I love the stuff you do and am always looking for ways to incorporate that kind of work into my sessions.

james - They are pretty good. I don’t log it but I do a ton of YWTL’s, overhead shoulder dislocates, etc and I’ve been doing some t-spine rolling as well. The upper “girdle” feels pretty good these days. Now my right elbow (from gripping) is another story. Can’t seem to get rid of that “nag”

On a side note, ask me about my shoulders on Friday morning as I have chest day planned for Thursday. I won’t be doing any flat benching though, so we’ll see.

Great vid! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks EyeD. (I originally typed ED but then looking at your avi, you became a whole different kind of doctor)

Tonight was Back.

A. WG Pull ups
**Assisted to start
15 x -55
12 x -40
10 x -15
2 x 8 @BW

B. T-Bar Row
12 x 2pl
10 x 3pl
8 x 4pl
6 x 4pl+25/6 x 4pl/6 x 3pl/12 x 2pl

C. Machine WG Pulldown
4 x 8 x 150
**Stretch and Flex each rep

D. HS WG Seated Row
12 x 100lbs/side
10 x 110/side
8 x 120/side
8 x 130/side

E. HS Shrugs
15 x 2pps
3 x 12 x 2pps+25

Had planned to include SG Dead’s but my SI joint is rather bothersome. Not sore to touch (which I assume it would be if it was a foam rolling overuse issue) but rather in an extended position. Flexed (seated) seems fine. Hyperextending seems to send me some signals of pain right from that joint.

Anyone have any thoughts?

just saying hi…your on a roll lately!!

I’m not sure if these have been posted before but I just found them this morning. It’s an entire series of video’s from the University of Miami with alumni Ray Lewis, Future HoF LB’r, addressing the Miami football team.

This one struck a chord with me.

This guy has a career as a motivational speaker when he’s done.

“Effort…which is between you and you”

Fucking great line.

That’s gonna be the title of my new log I think. That one gave me chills this morning.

Great work. No help on the SI joint though.

Love the motivational stuff you’re posting.

Diet Update:

So my weight has climbed to 184.2 this morning and I’ve been a steady 184 give or take .5 a lb so I’m going to increase calories again. I’ll say this; my diet was not even close to super tight over the past 4 weeks and I’m a little softer (mostly around the handles) but would still classify myself as Lean (as opposed to RFL).

I’ve actually been chatting with an acquaintance/friend who is helping me get carbs back into my “lifestyle”. So there will be some experimenting with higher carb meals over the next 4 weeks (which incidentally is when I’ll take some more pics – right before the Christmas bloat).

I’ve also added a daily cleanse product into my diet. I think Kent will recognize some of the contents; sprouted chia seeds, flax seed, psyllium seed husk, sprouted brown rice powder and probiotics. 3 days after starting this (1/3 cup/day), I lost 2.2lbs. I shouldn’t say “lost”. I know which bowl I lost them in.

Strength is still climbing although I’ve found as I’ve “grown” on the rebound, that joint issues are popping up so I’ll need to be very aware of those and keep working on mobility. Thank heavens for the O35 sticky!

Side note: I’m now thinking I may do a show next fall (October) as opposed to the spring. Either way, trophies in 2012. Just a matter of ‘effort’.

Quick session last night followed by 2hrs of volleyball.

A. Machine Flyes
3 x 12 w/ hard flex

B. Decline DB’s
8 x 8 @ 70lb’rs
**squeezed each rep

C1. Seated DB Laterals
4 x 10 x 20lb’rs
C2. Band Pull Aparts
4 x 12 w/ MicMini

Done.

Yeah, I’m taking those and a whole lot more. The volume and enthusiasm of the pooping is ridiculous.

Ya’ know, 185 is really, REALLY solid. I doubt I’ll be that weight when I start cutting. I hope you’re pleased.
