Quick session tonight. Only took 35 minutes end to end. Elbow feels pretty good though.
I guess time will tell with the JM presses, it seems like they should do the trick.

I also got this advice today from Sir Tate:
“Todd, I would work on close grip boards for max effort work as well as accessory work. All bench work would be with a close grip for 3-4 weeks.”
Although he did then say that if he had to pick one exercise to bring up the bench; it would be JM presses. (I assume outside of actually benching… LOL!)

Just killed my cheat meal.
45 minutes included:
1lb chicken wings
8oz sirloin with blue cheese crumble (cooked medium rare for those that care)
sweet potato fries
1/2 peanut butter chocolate chip cookie sundae (no way I was finished this…way too rich).
Feel pretty FULL after this cheat meal so we’re going balls to the wall tomorrow for legs. Going to perhaps test the 1RM on squats. We shall see.
Now to go put on some elastic waist band pants and watch TV for a bit before crashing. 7am cardio comes early.
When you need to break out the fat pants you know you’re doing it right.
Funny thing is that I didn’t even gain a LB. Although it was a bit of an uncomfortable sleep. LOL.
That is one hell of a cheat meal right there!

First, I got a great ab workout in at the local nutrition shop when a few guys from the old stomping grounds showed up at the same time and we spent a good 40 minutes talking about all the crazy shit we’ve seen in the gym over the years.
Second, bought myself a new chair for my place.
Finally, had a killer leg session. This is not for the weak at heart.

So based on the fact that a)on Saturday AM my RMT said my legs felt MUCH better than they have in the past and B) I had a killer cheat meal on Saturday night I decided to forgo the squat deload and test my 1RM.

Finished and basically just sat at the leg press for 3 minutes. Felt a little puke in my mouth. Got some water and continued.
Machine Leg Press
15 continuous reps x 220
10 cont reps + 5 deadstop reps x 220
5 cont reps + 10 deadstop reps x 220
15 deadstop reps x 220
Finished with extensions. I think I did 100 reps in 6 sets @ 90. Felt like someone stabbed me in my quads.
Stumbled out of the gym.
Won’t be doing that again for a while. So far the only thing sore is my scapula from attempting to do law bar squats.
Damn! That’s great work indeed. How often do you kill yourself like that? I’m not sure that I could do that on a regular basis. Are you scheduling these sessions in?

I usually have high volume leg days but today’s was excessive. It wasn’t really planned until I woke up this morning and felt ‘strong like bull’ and knew my body could take it.
That cheat meal gave you super powers!!!
weird that you didn’t gain. muscles must have soaked it all up.

MiM-kins, yeah, I was thinking for sure I’d be at least +2 but nope. EXACT same. Although I did gain .8 in total yesterday.
Joe, yeah, no such luck. Not only did I do that leg session yesterday afternoon but last night at baseball I ended up catching 5 innings. I can feel some serious non-moving DOMS on their way to visit.
