Striving for Optimal

I’ve been looking for some advice and educated opinions, seems like I’ve found the right place. I have been doing quite a bit of reading which included going through all of the stickies. There is still some blood work that needs to be completed, but I will be as thorough as possible.

Age - 24 turning 25 next month

Height - 6’0

Waist - 34"

Weight - 205lb

Describe body and facial hair - Lots of body hair, no problems growing a full beard. Hair on my head is thinning and slowly receding.

Describe where you carry fat and how changed - Mainly carry fat in the lower abdominal and love handles/lower back

Health conditions, symptoms [history] - none

Rx and OTC drugs, any hair loss drugs or prostate drugs ever - none

Describe diet [some create substantial damage with starvation diets] - I’ve been tracking calories/macros for quite some time now. Well balanced diet, lots of whole foods. 1g/lb protein, 80g Fat and never go below 50g. Fill up the rest of calories with carbs.
SUPPLEMENTS - fish oil, vitamin D, vitamin C, protein powder, creatine, probiotics, digestive enzymes(only before big meals)

Describe training [some ruin there hormones by over training] - 4 days Upper/Lower split. 2 cardio sessions per week.

Testes ache, ever, with a fever? - Left testicle has a constant dull ache, especially when seated for extended periods. I have a grade 2 varicocele on my left testicle and a small hydrocele on my right testicle(ultra-sound was done). The boys run a little hotter than what i think would be normal, but that doesn’t surprise me considering what I stated above.

How have morning wood and nocturnal erections changed - Used to get morning wood about 5-6 times a week. Over the last year the rate at which that happens has progressively declined. Pretty much non-existent at this point.

SYMPTOMS

All of this has progressively become worse over the last years time. Very rare to non-existent erections, loss of libido, very lethargic, lots of brain fog, lack of motivation and ambition, strength numbers have gone down, put on fat a lot easier.

BLOOD WORK

I have 3 different sets of blood work, all done over the last 3.5 months. I have gone through two doctors already. I am currently dealing with an endo who seems to know his stuff and is willing to work with me…third time’s the charm, right??

Main tests that still need to be done are, Free T, fT4, fT3, rT3. If there is anything else missing or that you think should also get done with what I listed, please let me know.

By looking at my LH and FSH numbers it appears that I am secondary(Pituitary MRI scheduled for January 17/2014). My platelet count is also concerning. What puzzles me the most is the fluctuation in TSH and the dramatic increase in Total T, although still very low for someone my age.

I eat plenty of iodized salt, and have been doing so since my early teens, so i think iodine deficiency is a non-issue. I will track my temp as suggested and report back.

Thanks for taking the time out to have a look. I would definitely appreciate any input you guys might have.
