@theBird - Yeah the strength works been solid recently. Same cant be said for the erg, but it is always a long hard slog getting back into rowing after a break. Yeah man, I play online. My username is babyrhino1a if you want to add me. Will definitely have to have a match sometime, assuming we can work around the time difference.
Lunch:
4.8km run during lunch break in 22:42
PM:
12 minutes on erg at 1:58.1 split.
Just felt uncomfortable from the start on the erg. Bit of an off day, but hopefully it is just a one off as things have been progressing nicely this last week or so. Planning on more running during lunch breaks to help fitness, lower bodyweight (still at 92kg) and just get used to higher volume. Plus its nice to get outside for a bit rather than being shut in the office all day.

I need to renew my online membership first.
Well the rugby comeback is short lived, as it turns out I have ligament damage in my right wrist so got 2 fucked wrists now. Not sure how quickly I will be able to come back, but looks like progress will be halted a bit. Going to try and keep fitness up on stationary bike and I will hopefully be able to erg again soon. May be a bit longer before I can row in a boat again due to the wrist flexing when feathering the blade. I think I am going to rule rugby out, for the same reason I quit in the first place which is injury.
So been a bit frustrated with injury lately. Not trained as much as I should have, but at least been back on it last couple of days.

Lunch:
25 minute run steady pace just to get back into things. Going to utilise my lunch time more often.

Lunch:
4.8km in 23.02. Not pushed to limit, but still a little slow, hopefully will bring this down steadily.
PM:
5 minute warm up on stationary bike.
10 minutes hard at 262 watts per hour.
5 minute break
10 minutes hard at 285 watts per hour.
Quite happy with 2nd session on bike, shows fitness isn’t shockingly bad. Looking forward to building it up. Wrist is still a little sore, but nothing serious and is slowly healing.
@theBird - No I tried to give rugby league a go seeing a it is played over summer season and thought it would be fun to try, but twisted my wrist back in a tackle and now its going to be few weeks before I can start easing back into things. Doctors said 6-8 weeks, but I am hoping I can start lifting sooner than that, will just have to go very easy on the pressing to start with.

Out all day for Magic Weekend (4 back to back rugby matches, one of best days out ever, definitely going again next year).
30 minutes bike on stationary bike 233 watts per hour. Training is really boring at moment, but wrist is healing well. I have a short holiday from Thursday to Monday so hope to get back into swing of things next week.
@Alpha - Thanks man. Things seem to be healing, just amazing how restricted training becomes when you can’t even grip properly with one hand.

7 hill sprints.
Found a longer hill leading up from the woods just a little further out. Was aiming for 6-8 so was happy to reach 7, but was absolutely destroyed by the end.

Maybe you should take this opportunity to really work hard on the running side of things.
@theBird - Yeah, I am just focusing on what I can do. I have a 4 day holiday starting tomorrow, so hoping to ease back into rowing after that and slowly work on adding weights back into my training programme.
So holiday is over, wrist is on the mend, back to it today.

Lunch:
5k run in 22:17
PM:
10 minute erg at 1:56.9 split r20.
25 minutes on bike at 256 watts per hour
Erg felt uncomfortable, going to have to push through discomfort and get used to it again, but no wrist pain which is positive. The bike was a decent pace at this point though. Its all about consistency and steady progression from here.
Lunch:
3.6k very steady run followed by stretch and mobility work. Nothing too intense, but beats being sat down instead.
PM:
Insert:
Agile 8
2k on erg r20 1:56.8 split
Giant Sets:
Squats: 60/3, 100/3, 120/3, 130/3, 60/3
DB Romanian Deadlift: 18/5, 18/5, 18/5, 18/5, 18/5
Push Ups on knuckles: 10, 10, 10, 10, 10
V-Sits: 10, 10, 10, 10
Extract:
4 minute tabata on bike
Notes:
First time with giant sets. It is tough mentally more than anything. Squats were a bit weak, but 130kg is not bad given I have usually struggled with squats on same day or day after running. Dodgy wrist restricted the rest. Struggled to grip heavier DBs than the 18kgs, but to be honest the light romanian deadlifts made my hamstrings feel better than they have for a while. Had to do push ups on knuckles which was tough on tiled floor, but no strain on my wrist doing them like that so just manned up. Will look to increase weights and intensity from here.
7k outing on double scull. Yet another surprisingly good outing in the sun. Gonna have to get used to the early mornings again, but good week back into training and hitting both the erg and weights tomorrow.
