5k race against the stream. Time was 20.54.7 and we came 3rd in coxed fours category. First time we beat our main college rivals since I started rowing, so fairly promising start, but it is only 3rd so plenty of room for improvement.

Biathlon challenge with a 6k row and roughly 6k run. My time came in at 47.21 and was 2nd fastest in club overall. I had the fastest ergo score, but was taken on the run.

Last couple of days have been fairly light. Training and races has been intense as well as workload for my degree. I went out last night to unwind and have a bit of fun hence the light session today, but feel massively better now. I feel a little less overworked, my cold has cleared so am looking forward to building to next weeks race in the 8 where I am hoping we are the fastest college 8 and can challeneg more university crews.

Been poor updating my log again, but am so swamped with work, rowing and captain duties at the moment. Looking forward to rest day tomorrow before big races on Saturday in both 8 and 4.

Race cancelled due to organisers fuck up, so did ergo instead when I got back. All the taper and build up for nothing just becase the forgot to organise safety launches.

Shocking performance. Can only put it down to mental fatigue as I stopped 4 times during it and never really pushed myself. Think I am quite drained with essay deadlines and captain duties at the moment. Sleep is just not an option these last few weeks.

2k outing in 4 man crew. Came in fairly quickly due to horrendous windy conditions. Waves were coming in the boat and it was dark. Think it was fairly telling sign we were only crew who even attempted to do an outing.

Looks like high rep barbell rows with focus on form has worked. 125 went up for a 3 rep max and I could probably have lifted more. Very happy with this. I am starting something similar with squats, higher reps, lower weight and focus on form and hopefully when I go back heavy I can finally break 150kg.

I have been neglecting this session a bit recently with all rowing training and essay deadlines. Was happy to start lifting some proper weights on squat again and bench press equalled my 1 rep max with more left in the tank. Also I do not know where the weighted pull ups came from, but it was awesome to break my PB twice by going up to 40kg. They have never felt this easy before.
