Anyone know which typical area stores carry ephedrine hcl for sure? Target, walmart, walgreens etc.

All of them do. It is called Primatine Mist tablets for asthma. No one sells ephedrine for dietary purposes, but it is still on the market for asthma sufferers.
You need to go to the pharmacy counter and ask for it.
