Do you advocate witness intimidation too (“Snitches get stitches”)?

Yes, and they were pissed until it was “milk time”.

Then they were happy again.

Not “a” gun, MORE guns!!
And a moat around the house.

Ahh. Short attention span, what a sweet life it must be.

I wonder if he would tell the cops the identity of the guy that shot 2pac?

What about Biggie?

Or the Burger King that sold Big Pun the Whopper that put him over the edge?

Or the bitch ass punk pilot that crashed the Queen of the Damned’s airplane?

Would he turn in MJ if he saw him giving Jesus Juice to a 10 year old?

Kick ass avatar Beowolf.

Ditto.

Why snitch when you can sue? Make that ghetto trash hand over their easy mac and grape drink that’ll show 'em to not disrespect your juice.

If that didn’t make sense I apologize I’m white and combined a bunch of shit I’ve seen from ghetto movies together…so it probably fits right in with this thread.

Peace Out Holmes…Yeah Yeah!!!

The funny thing is Camron had a ghetto version of 'To Catch a Predator.
Isn’t selling video tapes of people committing statuatory rape the same thing as snitching?

You don’t snitch on FRIENDS. There is nothing wrong with “snitching” on someone who you don’t like. If I got busted for something and my BUDDY ran, I wouldn’t fess up his name if they tried to beat it out of me. On the other hand, if some crackhead I’ve seen snooping around the block is walking around with some nice stereo equipment and my house gets broken into the next day, you bet your ass I will tell the cops who I think it is.
clip11 wrote:
Like camron said, if a serial killer was livin next door i would move prolly,
Why? Why not just throw a 145lb DB at them?

I’d say this would make for a great Boondocks episode, but they already made one about snitching, and two more about Gangstalic…er… I mean Cam’ron.

Now I might just be full of shit as usual, but since the original poster is not white that probably plays a big role.

(“you” means “a person”, not one particular person.)

I think that in white, urban areas calling the police is the right thing to do. Historically though minorities have gotten pretty rough treatment from the police so are more likely to view them as another problem rather than a solution. In a lot of inner city neighborhoods what keeps you safe is not the cops, but solidarity with others and the willingness to bash heads if crossed.* There might well be a serial killer living a couple doors down who is the local pusher. Reporting him to the cops means his buddies show up on your front doorstep (for him it’s a good business move to ax murder anyone who cheats him – different from your Ted Bundy sort though the body counts are both just as high). Not pretty, but it happens. You are better off keeping your mouth shut and your head down, since not engaging anyone means that you are not living on the edge.

Now in a more affluent setting, the local serial killer is isolated and the cops can deal with it very well. Much of this also is because in such settings you have the luxury of solitude – you can live your life barely interacting with your neighbors or workers. In poorer areas you are more crowded and consequently have to rely on each other more. But now this is starting to stray more off topic…

 • Just so we are clear, it is my considered opinion that such social behavior will always relegate everyone to being second class citizens in their own country. Prosperity depends largely on a safe environment to work in plus all the resources freed up that might go into security. War zones are famously unproductive.

I am glad I am not in your family. You are not solid at all. Family should have each other’s backs, and look out for one another. You are trying to get street cred in a stupid way. And when I mean family, that is not limited to blood relatives. There are friends of mine I have had for so long I consider them family, and if someone tried to disturb their well-being, there would be some furniture moving. You are a sell out to your family and society.

Why do you have to bring logic, reason and intelligence to a place that was so beautifully ignorant?

Watch out son, Clip is gonna handle his and smoke u now. I mean prolly, cuz you like, dis’ed him and his peeps and shit. NAAA MEAN?

Honestly though, I lived in the rough section of town in college… Now were not talking about deep inner-city here, but there were a few boarded up crack houses & spike dens. I walked into a Store 24 a few mins after it was robbed and the guy at the counter shot him, and saw the blood trail in the snow.

The cops show up eventually, and start acting ignorant and combative when the ‘witnesses’ refuse to assist. Something about civic duty and all that. But if the people are normal to them, the cops were always polite and helpful. I found that the police were often reactive in their behavior patterns in the poor neighborhoods.

While attending art school (in the early 80’s), I shared a large house in the Philly ghetto with 5 other male art students. We got burglarized twice, and scared off a 3rd attempt within a month. We called the police, filed a report. One of the officers told us “if you ever encounter a burglar in the house, kill him, place the body in a garbage bag, and drop it in the Schuylkill River at night.”

I kid you not.

Quite a few people around here are quite funny yes. I tend to not be, but some are.

As far as going into the field as a profession, that is honestly a personal choice that he will have to make on his own.

Can I ask you a question? Good…

If you saw who shot Biggie, and would never get the chance take care of it yourself, would you at least tell his mom, so she could let him rest in peace?
