Since GWB’s refund went in people’s pockets and did nothing to stimulate the economy, and knowing that consumer spending is key, why don’t we just throw a ton of money at the former New Orleans evacuees???
Big screen TV’s, booze, clothes, shoes, other electronics…we all saw it. They’d go through the money in a heartbeat.
Just a thought

That would be better that the government socialism expansion program, thinly veiled as a “stimulus” that they tried to trink us in to believing would do shit other than expand the governments control over our daily lives.
If you want to bubble up, just cut checks…Or hell just give Mike Tyson a trillion dollars to spend. He’d have that shit spent in two weeks. We’d have hookers and crack dealers driving Bentleys’…That would do more than the piece of shit legislation they rammed through congress.

Because consumption is the cause of all the problems. People need to spend less and work more. Businesses need to find customers overseas to sell to.
I agree though that giving the people some of their own money back would definitely be a boon. Printing money out of thin air to give it to them is not.

I disagree only slightly. Deficit spending yes, but for those that can afford it, the consumption is what we need. That may be a long way off.
