Redwing Boots.
Not anymore, from what I heard.
Edit is not working so I’m quoting twice.

You scared me so I looked on their website and it shows they are still handcrafted in Minnesota.

It looks like they have another line, “worx” that is built overseas.
Really cool, I have wore Red wing work boots for 15 years, same pair for the last 10, my dad had told me that they stopped making them in the US. Now you made my day.
The model I’ve worn for ten years:

Says right on the site it’s hand made here.

I love their boots. They fit like a glove after breaking in, I’ve only replaced the sole once and I wear them hunting, camping, out and about… they are with me like an old friend and never fail me. Like a baseball mitt for my feet.

It is nice to know that if I ever have to replace the leather portion it will be with American leather and craftsmanship.

The only thing that makes me a little sad is that they are not HQ’d in Texas.
I wear the exact same pair, I always get looks when I go into a patients room they look at my boots and ask “Are you the Dr”. Kind of cracks me up.

I have yet to have to replace soles, I have debated on buying new pair or replacing.
Soles. But do it right, with the proper sole and at a Redwing store. The leather is already perfect. It will take ten more years to get your new boots where you want them.
Good point, now since we both live in the same town, where?
Not sure what side of town you are in.
South side live in Friendswood and work in LaPorte, but you know man its Houston we travel as needed.
From LaPorte, option C on the map would be stellar. From home, maybe Pearland?
No worries, just was asking cause if you took them local and had good results would do the same. And yes we finally get some rain in town.
There was a store off Gessner and I-10, locally owned franchise by a guy name Mike from Katy. He did an excellent job a few years ago. His store was scrapped when I-10 was widened. Poor guy.

He still has a store in Katy but that is a hell of a drive for you. Does all his own work right in the back of his shop though.
The in laws live in Cypress plus I am used to driving all over for work. I honestly have a few more years to go, only really seeing some wear on the outside of heel.
South Katy. Exit Mason Rd. from 10, hook a left. There is a shopping strip on the right, after a gas station. He is in there.

I forget what they are called but you can buy things to tack and glue on to your heel. It is designed to fit usual heel wear and tear and makes them good as new for a few bucks.

Any boot store carries them. I bought some from Cavender’s for my Ariats. Also awesome.

^ How do you like the Ariats? Bought the wife a pair, but I just couldnt find a pair that I liked.

Love them. They break in well and the insole feels like a tennis shoe. I like the styling and wear them with dockers to church, casual business meetings, of course with jeans to the rodeo, etc, with a matching jeweled belt. I like western “bling” so they Ariats are right up my ally. No gaudy buckles though, plus although I hunt, occassionally ride horses and am a born and bred Texan, I’m not a real cowboy and I think buckles should be reserved for them.

I’ve worn Lucchese but they weren’t as comfortable, didn’t seem as durable and I couldn’t justify the extra few hundred dollars in light of those facts.

Redwing workboots for me, and I’ll always wear Ariat for cowboy boots.

Some times. Flip flops though, not sandals. This is Texas but we do live near a beach…

Hardly anything is made in America anymore. Most of our industries are being shipped off to China or some other foreign places. The only “american” things we have left are beer, tattoos, and prostitutes. (Well, thats from listening to the Walton and Johnson show)
Here is an item that is made in the good ole U.S. of A. At one point I was their service technician. Nice people and a good solid line of heavy industrial products.

edited to see if this one works.

John Deere. But some of their parts come from China.

My kids will be made in USA…I guess that counts.

Well do not want this thread to be shipped to PWI, however what do most people think companies are going to do? If you owned a business you are in it to make money, and if it is millions cheaper to produce over seas, well big business is going to do it. Not saying right or wrong honestly but since I started working in the occupational medicine field I understand now.

And thats all I am going to say about that.
See’s Candy.

I like them, I have cowboy boots with the rubber work sole so I don’t slip on water/oil/whatever, but they still slide good if I want to go dancing right after work.

the missionary position. you’re welcome.
