The health insurance industry needs serious regulation/revamping in order to improve healthcare. I doubt we will get some form of universal healthcare (which I am for over many other things gov spends money on) anytime soon, so letâs start with some regulation there. US government in its current form in charge of healthcare doesnt work (example - VA)!
Food waste is a huge problem in most modern countries. Grocery stores throw out insane amounts of perfectly good, fresh food because they purposefully over buy and yet we have many kids going hungry -thatâs a major problem.
Related to that, modern farming practices (including livestock raising) are absolutely horrible for the land, environment and health of the animals. A change to more regenerative farming practices needs to be made.
Eliminate single use plastics for the most part. This will extend oil reserves and help prevent many more tons of plastic from ending up in the ocean and food we eat (microplastics are in pretty much all seafood already).
Eliminate Parabens, pthalates, and other hormone disrupting chemicals from
hygeine products (this actually matches your point of âprofit at any costâ)
Donât spend another dime overseas until at least all homeless veterans are taken care of.

No, the private health insurance industry needs to be abandoned like in every other first world country except the U.S. Regulation has proven to be ineffective. In regards to healthcare it is a waste.And the VA not working, most likely has to do with some form of private sector infiltration. Why does single-payer in itâs various iterations work in every other country?

Homelessness is a governmental choice in this country. What does it say about a country who lets people live homeless? Be sure there is money made somewhere in the homeless industry and this has much to do with homelessness.

I am trying to be realistic in the short term. Effective regulation doesnât happen because of lobbying by insurance corporations, something I am very much against. Corporations should not be able to lobby the government. Citizens United needs to be overturned

of course there is. The money is the easy part. How do you think all that money had been sent to Ukraine? The congress has the power of the purse. If the votes are there the money shows up.
If people would stop voting for a Dem or Rep it could happen.

Because the insurance companies are lobbying against actually useful measures. The only laws that get passed have no teeth. Getting rid of their ability to do that is a good short term (a few years maybe) goal that will then allow for further change in the industry through some regulation.
This one area I am left leaning on. I do believe more governmental regulation in necessary in some things.
But it will never happen. The members of congress(Dems and Reps)are merely meat puppets. Just doing what their paymasters tell them. The only chance is to vote 3rd party. The Dems and Reps are hopelessly corrupt to the point of no return. Their owner donors often write the legislation. The whole system is corrupt. Itâs better to just get rid of them, like every other industrialized country on planet Earth and achieve their results.
