Co-ops, if they are going to work, and I shop at one that has been in business for decades, need to be small businesses. Imagine a company with thousands of employees and every one of them being in charge. Nothing would get done if they had to vote on every decision. And just like the US, the intelligent employees would be at the mercy of the morons. So of course they would see they still need management, the suits. And those people will get paid well because without them the employee owners would be lost. They would know how much they are worth. There would still be a de facto CEO as you would need, for efficiency’s sake, someone to make the day to day decisions.
At least with Marxism, whether you like it or not, there is no money. You get what you need and shut the F up.
Margin is what you get to keep after net sales. Absolute profit is the profit made before particular costs.
That maximizing profits IS NOT a moral goal. E.G. Boeing, “healthcare” Just about anything goes as long as another buck can be made. The logiccal end-point of this garbage economic system.
