I have been on and off trt several times for the last two years. I’m 28. I had a stint in college at 21 y/o where I abused adderall and kratom because I was an idiot. I have never felt right since and have had cold legs from the knees down, poor peripheral circulation in general and reduced vascularity. I have less energy and motivation and sex drive was in the shitter, along with depression. Prior to this I was an absolute machine and worked out 2x a day, played hockey all the time, boxed and was super active and couldn’t get enough sex. I want this back but I can’t seem to get it. My test levels were around 600 TT the first time I got tested but FT was near bottom of the range so since then so have been attempting TRT, on and off.
Currently I’m on 36 mg test cyp eod. My TT is 770 and FT is right on the very top number of the normal range. My estrogen is around 40. My libido is the best it has ever been on TRT. However I still don’t feel right. My mouth is constantly dry and I always feel dehydrated. I get strange feelings in my chest that are very uncomfortable where it feels like I can’t take full breaths and feels like my chest is tight. I’ve been thoroughly evaluated cardiac wise and I’m trying asthma meds but it’s not helping. Although I don’t really have panic attacks anymore, I now have a constant low level anxiety where I just always feel on edge and my chest is tight. The can’t take a full breath thing drives me nuts and never happens when I’m off trt.
I think something must be up with me other than testosterone and to be quite frank, I’d love to be able to get off of it as it doesn’t really make me feel better, it just replaces my problems with different problems.
I have been poor forever and after a lot of hard work, I am guaranteed a good job with great pay in January and will finally have extra cash laying around to figure this all out. My question is this, who is the best possible doctor I can go to to look at absolutely everything and get me feeling normal? I pay quite a bit as it is for treatment and my doctor just gets frustrated with me when minor dose adjustments do nothing to fix my issues. Last time I talked with him he seemed to just want to drop me as a client which is shitty and honestly unacceptable to me. I need a doc who will look at thyroid, adrenals, testosterone, iodine status, vitamins, all of it. Does such a person exist? It’s incredible the lengths I have to go to just to feel okay and I just want the best of the best. Any suggestions?
