On another note. I pre-ordered last week and still havent’ recvieved a beta key like they said I would. Is this some bullshit? Or was it a clever marketing tactic to get people to pre-order, then lock them in and not give beta keys.

I pre-ordered mine last week as well from Gamestop and received the beta key the next day. Did you order it at Gamestop or EBGames? If so check your spam box, if not email them or cancel your order. You can still cancel your order if you have not received the beta key.
I just preordered for $55 CDN…
Already downloaded the official client off the pirate bay and updated.
Now I’m just waiting for my damn beta key.

I ordered from Gamestop. My card hasn’t been charged either, I have to pay when I go pick it up. I didn’t even think to check my spam folders, I always just delete the whole folder without reading any of it. I’ll send them a message today.
In my limited experience it’s really nothing more of a re-skin. Idk, may not even pick it up, but I always liked Warcraft over SC, especially wc3, which I still consider to be not only the best rts game ever but most probably my favorite game in general.
“Silkysil.allupinthere” is my SC2 Beta screenname. As Aznt0rk wrote, you will get a free Beta key is you preorder the game from gamestop. Not sure if the name will carryover when the Retail version is released…

agreed. tl is a great resource. off the top of my head i would suggest you either work on your blink micro with the stalkers or bring along some sentries and use a lot of force fields. there are too many hard counters in this game to go with just one unit type.

That could be true in a way, but basically the hallmark of being a solid player is being able to defend cheese through good scouting, and then winning the macro war in the end.

Good scouting will usually beat cheesing. If you play team games the cheesing is a lot less effective as well. The game is almost everything great about the original with vastly improved graphics and about 50/50 new units to the original units. I have been playing the beta for awhile now (got a key when i pre-ordered from gamestop) and I am really enjoying it. If you enjoyed the first one even a little and have a decent computer to run the game then I would absolutely check it out.
