Squat Rack Curls 5.0

Because everybody starts out with the same strength levels… I wouldn’t come back either, being a dick doesn’t help the situation.

Watched a dude get pinned under a 95 lb squat. He walked the bar out of the rack forwards (not completely unheard of, but still) and descended primarily through knee bending and forward leaning until he was ass to grass. At this point, his ankles gave way and he was sitting on the floor. He stayed in that position for a good 20 seconds checking to see if anyone noticed him (everyone did) before finally laying back to get rid of the bar.

I was in a generally positive mood, so I approached him to offer a bit of help. Dude shrugged me off and left…

seen so much deadlifting in the smith recently, no higher than 2 plates either

I heard that some guy dropped 315 on himself this week. A few weeks after one of the few guys in the gym who can bench it asked if he wanted a spot. To which he responded, “I’ve got the best spotter right here” (motions to -120lb girlfriend. So that’s why the medics were there.

Just had a noob try to bench the bar only. He had so little control it looked for all the world like he was practicing to paddle a canoe while lieing on his back. I got him to try Push Ups instead. He couldn’t do them. I got him to try doing them off his knees…still no good. I took him all the way back to standing up and pushing himself away from a wall. He was only just managing that for a few reps. I hope to God he wont come back, it was embarassing![/quote]

As much as I dislike the S.R.C. threads I will admit a lot of the stuff is funny.

Your post was not. Judge and mock people who do stupid shit. Not people who are still taking the baby steps. From what I understand that isn’t the spirit of this thread.

x2

You hope that he doesn’t come back just because he’s starting out very weak? Really? Come on dude…

The most sane thing I’ve ever saw from you on this site…I don’t like it

Damn i can post here. Guy in my gym always shadow boxing in front of the mirror, even though people are trying to watch their form. About two or three days ago an old guy (who had a smoking hot wife btw) doing sit-ups with 25# plate. After each set he throws the damn plate. Now this didnt always bother me till i came back from overseas, the first time he does it i flinch get pissed stare at him. his wife notices says something about it, he shrugs it off and continues shot putting the damn plate. If i see this again im gonna loose my shit on him.

People throwing shit like that pisses me the hell off. All except the heaviest DBs in my gym are either constantly loose or bent. If I can snatch a 50kg DB and put it down gently, you don’t need to throw down your 20kg DB

It seems like its usually the “micro-muscle” guys who throw the weights around like that (not always but usually). I think it might be a napoleon complex “If i throw this weight and im really loud people will think im tough and strong”- Micro-muscle guy

About 2 weeks ago, I was doing stuff in the rack, and I was going to be a while. A guy kept hanging around the rack and I could tell he wanted to use it. I would have moved somewhere else if it wasnt for the fact that he was wearing capri pants. Not cutoffs, or rolled up pants, but capris like he bought them that way. I never took my headphones off and kept on going.

Because of doctor’s orders, I’m now supposed to do all bicep work with arms supported.

So guess what I’ve been doing?
I place a bar across the pins at just above elbow-height, roll a towel around the bar, and then lean back on it (so the bar is backing up my triceps) as I do dumbbell curls!

I do these at home, however.

You know someone’s going to come in and say “Elbow height? Yo mean a quarter-inch off the floor? har de har”

Nards, you’re ON lately!

Well, as usual.

I just wanted to beat some jerk to the punch.

LOL!

I agree. Given the choice, I’d rather take a punch from a family member, than from a stranger.

I’m touched.

Elbow height? You mean a quarter… Damn it. Never mind.

I guess that’s pretty cool.

Do you mean capri pants that cut off under the knee, or do you mean full length capri pants.

I find tracksuit pants that taper down in diameter towards the bottom more comfortable to train in vs. normal tracksuit pants.
