Sprinting & Jumping to Save My Dignity

Hey Malaka,

Good to see your running is going well. I weigh the same as you now. I feel better at 93kg compared to my usual 98kg. Give those cops hell.

Well, to be honest, I don’t if it is that I don’t lift weights or because I have lsot 3 kg’s, but I feeling lighter, a lot lighter. Once I am down to 85, then I will know what is right or wrong. How’s your training going?

Also, I have understood that training is my whole life. Not being able to train as I want to, makes me depressive. Right now, life pretty much sucks. I can’t do my workouts, I can’t eat right, I can’t do what I like to do. It sucks big hairy balls. On top of all that, financially, the things are even worse. Like to the point we don’t know were our next dinner will come from.

So yeah, I am at the point of my mental brakedown, just a click away of doing something really stupid, like robbing a bank or something. Dunno, I am in a really dark place right and it does not seem that things will get any better in the near future… The only thing I know is that the next month (March), will be a very difficult month, and a month in which many things will turn to the bette or the worse. Time will tell. Sorry for my rant, but I just needed to say this somewhere.

Another PR, did 7.09 for my 60 meter run. Setting PR’s every week is nice. It’s even nicer since I workout 1-2 times per week LOL. Anyhow, that is just what I did for today, Tuesday are my games so until then I am just gonna get rested and hopefully, getting a sub 7. That is a long shot, but I believe I can do it.

20/2/12

Drunk my ass off 2 days in a row. Both days I got home gome completely wasted at 4 AM. So, I believe I will suck big time at the games tomorrow LOL. I am not really smart I guess…

Hang in brah. I feel your pain. Training is my life aswell. Sometimes you just need to keep going even when you cant see the light. Its not about how hard you hit, its about how fast you get up after you have been hit!

Got back from the games. Everyone said I run faster, my coach said that my technique was actually a lot better, but I ran a 7.36. I guess that drinking a bottle of Haig in 2 nights in a row and sleeping at 4 AM doesn’t do you any good LOL. Anyway, don’t really care, because since my technique is getting better, so will my time. My legs are fucked up seriously. Really sore, full of tights spots (basically my whole quad is a tight spot) and being on my feet for 6 hours at work while walking up and down stairs doesn’t really help. I got into an argument with my parents twice today, because I said I want to be athlete and be the greek Joe DeFranco one day (big words, I know), and my dather who is usually full of venom got me to my edges. Fuck that shit. I don’t this crap right now. Also, my sister sits on her fat ass all day long, NOT looking for a motherfucking job, while I am getting fucked up in my work. This situation is really fucked up. This week, is going to be crucial. Either I am going to fuck someone up really badly, or things will become as I want them to be. Or option 3, which I REALLY hope does not happen, I will working this stupid ass job, get injured within the month, and THEN I am going to fuck everyone up. Really, everyone and everything that is on my sight.

Life is getting better. Today was actually tolerable. I believe for some reason, ephedrine is making me feel better. Also, milk does that too. Will continue drinking milk (3/4 of a gallon a day) and taking ephedrine, just to see what will happen. I am seeing cardiac arrest on the horizon…

EDIT: Pot doesn’t do shit to cheer me up, don’t suggest it.

I find that cutting wheat out of my diet lifts my mood. Dont forget to take fish oil.

Will try that, but I have seen tremendous change from the milk alone. I am almost in my previous state of mind. Who knows, after all I might not lose it completely.

I was thinking maybe you have lost some body fat, and that may be having some effect on your mental state?

I have definetely lost some BF. Who knows? Imagine how cranky I will be once I get down to 80-85kg. Damn, no one is gonna like me LOL.

Finally, I LIFTED!!! FUCK YEAH!!! Went in, lifted heavy shit for 2 hours, and got out. I did:

Machine high rows, each side separately, focused on flexing hard:
10kgx15
20kgx15
30kgx15
40kgx15
50kgx12
60kgx8

DB rows
32kgx15x3, really easy for my lats, but my upper back gave out. My upper back and etx. rotators are really weak. Have to adress this.

Lat pulldowns:
60kgx12x3, left a couple of reps in the tank

Face pulls:
20kgx15x2
20kgx20, oh yeah these felt good.

Hang snatch high pulls:
60kgx15
80kgx15
100kgx12, these gassed me out really bad.

Lateral raises:
9kgx15
14kgx15x2
16kgx12x2

Front raises:
8kgx12x2
10kgx12

Rear delts
8kgx15x3

Bicep curls of all kinds:
8 total sets of 8-12 reps, the weight I used was HUMILIATING. Something like 8 or 10kg, my biceps are weak as fuck, another part I have to address.

In the end, 15 minutes of intervals on the treadmill. Run at 16km/h for 1 minute, 3 minutes walking at 4. The last one was the easiest LOL. Also, having stopped my asthma medicine didn’t help either.

That was it. Tomorrow I have legs. BACK AT SQUATTING BABY!!! I am shooting for a 180kgx5. We’ll see. Maybe more, maybe less.

28/2/12

Squatted. I did:

barxsome
60kgx8
80kgx5
100kgx3
120kgx2
140kgx1
160kgx1
180kgx5, HELL YEAH!! every rep was IPF depth, so I was really excited about this. Also, considering that my last squat workout was over 4 months ago, this isn’t too bad. I actually believe I have got stronger from all the sprints and stuff I have been doing. Who knows? After the squats, I did some leg curls, leg presses, improvised reverse hypers and stretching. Now, after 6 hours of beeing on my feet at work, I am going to ice the hell out of my legs in the hopes that I won’t be sore tomorrow.

Good work!
What exactly do you ice? I havent squatted for 3 months… dont think I could lift that much. With soccer season about to start up, I was thinking about concentrating on unilateral leg work… maybe you should do the same.

I ice the entire leg. Quads, hams, calves, adductors/abductors, the whole deal. Also, my shins which still aren’t 100% but who gives a fuck. What really helps them is to take the ice and really dig in the inside of the sin and dissolve any combs there. Hurts like hell, helps like heaven.

I was even thinking of an ice bath, after reading it on StormTheBeach’s log. I usually do some lunges on Bulgarian split squats, but what has really helped me in size, strength or speed is normal squats. Why are you doing the unilateral work? Just for the sake of less CNS stress?

Hey malaka,

How long does it take to ice your legs? Legs are prerry big, so I imagine it would take ages to ice them efficiently. I love the idea of an ice bath. How would one go with doing that? Any particular time to do it etc? It it dangerous to ice your testicles lol?

Im doing unilateral work because I think its more specific to soccer, and Im trying to correct some muscle imbalances and pelvic tilt etc. I also have to be super careful with squatting that I dont irritate my lower back. Although I look foward to resuming squatting again, hopefully within the next 6 weeks.

2/3/12 Bench press

barxsome
30kgx8
40kgx8
60kgx4
80kgx2
100kgx8, my PR on these is 10 reps, so I was close. For not bencing for over 4 months, It’s not bad.

Then did some incline on a PureStrenth machine with 30kg per side, many reps, don’t know how many.

Side laterals only my left shoulder
8kgx12x2
6kgx15

Tricep pushdowns
30kgx8x2
25kgx9, damn this is a hard crossover. In my previous gym I easily did 60kgx15, lol.

Ext. rotations with DB’s
3kgx12x2

Ext. rotations with cable
5kgx12x2
2,5kgx12

That’s all. Pretty good workout, will probably keep training this way, until I figure out how the hell I will manage to go to afternoon practises, when I am working in the afternoon LOL.

Not as long as one would think. About 15 minutes tops for both of them. I don’t believe it is dangerous, at least the the 15 minutes you will be. The way I was thinking was fulling the bathtub with the coldest water I could, then throw in a fuckload on ice. Should work. Doing it on your day off would be ideal.

3/3/12 Back work

I love hitting the weights. Today, I let the bodybuilder I have in me out. Focused on squeezing and moving everything with my lats. My lats felt incredibly pumped. I don’t remember the weights exactly, because I was all dizzy after my sets, so next time, I am going to take a notebook with me.

Lat pulldowns
75kgx12
80kgx8
75kgx8x2

Cable seated Rows

45kgx8
50kgx8
45kgx8
45kgx12

Hang snatch high pulls
60kgx12
80kgx8

Snatch grip shrugs
100kgx20, focusing on squeezing at the top

Face pulls
20kgx15x3

Cable curls
15kgx12
15kgx8
10kgx12

Cable hammer curls
10kgx12x3

Cable ext. rotations
2,5kgx15x3, my left infraspinatus is strengthening nicely. About 90% as stong as my right. Hopefully, in a couple of weeks I will be overhead pressing again. Also, I am not saying I am bulking, but I am going to eat wahtever is in front of me.

One second your losing weight, and then your gaining weight. Make up your mind.
