Why? Because he didn’t start his rookie season? Not many QB’s do. There was no reason to throw him to the wolves, and especially since he lasted so long in the draft that his total contract was (IIRC) about the same as what JaMarcus Russell made this season.
He led the Browns on a scoring drive when Anderson was out hurt for a series, and showed he definitely has an NFL arm. I don’t see how he’s a “bust” at all. Now if you wanna talk 22nd overall picks at QB who turned out to be busts…ladies and gents, none other than J.P. Losman…
