Splenda

Yeah, people thought the same thing about smoking. It was “conspiracy” until people found out that smoking does cause cancer.Did you know that the tabacco industry knew that it caused cancer, for about 40 years before people actually found out? So,if our pretty little government did this with tabacco, what makes you think they wouldn’t with the food industry, god?

Manufacturers claim on their website that Splenda is not metabolized or absorbed, and this is completely false! It is true that the majority of sucralose that is consumed is excreted in the feces and urine unchanged, but the reality is that up to 40% of the ingested sucralose is metabolized. Both the metabolites and unchanged absorbed sucralose are excreted in the urine. Meanwhile, absorbed sucralose has been found to concentrate in the liver, kidney and GI tract. The Sucralose Toxicity Information Center has also found that sucralose breaks down into small amounts of 1,6-dichlorofructose, which is a chemical that has not been tested adequately in humans.

Because sucralose is a chlorinated molecule, when metabolized, some of the chlorine and other substances in splenda (including arsenic, or rat poison) is taken by the system. Alarming? Yes, when we realize that chlorinated molecules serve as the basis for pesticides like DDT and accumulate in body fat.

According to the FDA report, ?Results from the submitted animal and human pharmacokinetics data identified three major sucralosemetabolites (Ml, M2, and M3) in urine in addition to unchanged sucralose.? The report also states, ?The metabolic profile of sucralose in rats was qualitatively similar to that seen in humans. In addition to unchanged sucralose, two sucralose metabolites, Ml and M2, were detected in the urine of rats and humans after oral dosing of sucralose?A pronounced difference was observed in the proportions of M2 and M3 excreted by male versus female mice: Males produced more M2 than M3, while the opposite was true of female mice.? Even within FDA and industry studies, metabolization and absorption of Splen-da is shown; why are the manufacturers claiming that it is not? What else are they claiming that is not true? What are they hiding?

As soon as I saw this question I knew there would be at least one yahoo conspiracy theorist who would throw out all these questionable sources and demonize it. Congratulations, it’s you! What is the fascination with being a conspiracy theorist anyways? Is it a form of paranoia that every one and every company is out to get you?

Tom Cruise has the perfect religion for you…
Sorry, you have your oppinion and I have mine. As for using stevia, it’s great stuff, but dont use too much because it can have an unpleasant after taste.

Since when does natural = safe?

I have some mushrooms growing in my yard. I’m gonna cook em up for dinner cause they’re natural!

I personally don’t like the taste of the stuff. So…

Why not eat some fruit?

Although I will say the side effects of fruit consumption are way under reported. Approx 98% of lab monkeys that were fed apples and banannas on a regualr basis ended up dying and before death were acting in a way researchers could only describe as “primate-like.”

Fruit will make a monkey out of you, BEWARE!!!

Hell yeah! I’d rather put apples in my oatmeal than splenda.Tastes way better and you’re getting the vitamins!

Might we also point out that arsenic is a naturally occuring mineral and that holly berries, wisteria blooms and white oleander are naturally occuring sources of fiber and carbs that will kill your ass.

Oh and I’d like to also take this time to point out that even though you may go to health food stores and buy the natural “snacks” that DOES NOT mean eat 30 of them at a time! I hate when I ask a client what they eat and they tell me all these things that they get but eat boatloads of it. Portions have gone to sh*t in the US.

Oh yeah…smoking nicotine and eating splenda. Great f’n analogy, f*ck nut. Maybe if you snort 10 lbs of splenda a day for 15 years you may get cancer as well. Why don’t you try it and let me konw how that works for ya?

I wouldn’t know, due to the large amount of splenda that is already consumed by giant behemoths like you thinking they’ll get any healthier by doing so.Randman, you type like a child. Please use proper english.

Great argument against Sucralose. I especially like the “you type like a child” comment. By the way, English should be capitalized.

Now, everyone that’s afraid of a little Sucralose please leave the building.

Seriously, unless you have MS or some other medical condition that reders you sensitive to Sucralose, it’s not something worth worrying about. I personally like the stuff and use it often, as do many people I know, but either way it’s not worth all the fuss that the conspiracy theorists claim.

I was simply stating my opinion.By the way,it’s “M.S.”,not “MS”.It’s easy to practice what you don’t preach.
ChrisKing wrote:

I wasn’t the one asking people to use proper “english.”

You might want to stick around here for a while and do a lot of reading to improve your knowledge/opinion before making too many comments.

No,but you were telling me English should be capitalized.Increase my knowledge?I,unlike you,go to college to increase my knowledge about health, not read websites.

Why? Do you already have horns sticking out of your ass?

Yes…its too bad you can’t put apples in your coffee. I love the taste of splenda and use a teaspoon per cup of coffee. With that said, sometimes I drink 4-6cups of coffee…so…I am alittle curious about the effects of splenda. What should I be looking for? Is it normal for horns to be growing out of my ass?
I already have multiple degrees and significant experience in this field, so you have a lot catching up to do.

Stick with it, there’s a lot to learn.

Oh my gosh! You’re so special! I have a degrees too.And your point is? Just because you have a degree in something doesn’t mean you’re right 100% of the time.Yes,even doctors fail at certain tasks. While there is nothing wrong with aquiring more knowledge, mankind will not always be right. Please deal with it. I was responding to your comment where you claimed that “I,unlike you,go to college to increase my knowledge about health, not read websites.”

You’re not very good at this, are you?
