Hello All,
This is probably a question for Cy. I read in one of the recent articles that it is good to take Power Drive right after a workout for your CNS. I currently take Spike beforehand. Are these two counterindicated? Thanks

JF,
I don’t think there will be a problem, nor am I aware of anyone reporting any problems when using the two in that fashion.
Cy,
Thanks for such a quick reply! That's good to know. I have one more question about the combination, or maybe this is more about Power Drive. Currently, I sip my Surge serving during my workout and drink the rest at the end. Could I just add the Power Drive right into the Surge mixture and use it the same way? Thanks!

JF,
I wouldn’t do that. It’s important that whatever you’re taking with the Surge doesn’t, in some way, blunt the increase in insulin release and while I don’t know for certain, it’s plausible that at least one of the ingredients could indirectly do such a thing.

Ok,
So if I drink Surge after my workout, how long should I wait to drink the Power Drive?

I’d probably wait around an hour.
Cy, good to know. I’ve been just mixing the Power Drive with the Surge after the workout and it has helped a ton with recovery after heavy CNS training days. So it would be even more of a benefit to wait an hour? I usually have been eating a meal 1 hour after the post-workout drink, should I take the power drive right before the meal and wait 15 min or so before the meal? Thanks

Cy, in case you drink Surge after workout and then eat solid food/meal 60mins after Surge, when do you take your Power Drive?
Geek boy

Mack,
As I said, I don’t know for certain that it’s a problem, but it’s possible. If you’ve been benefiting by your current protocol, stick with that. Having said that, I’d personally take the Power Drive with that meal after the Surge.
It didn’t hurt me in Chicago last weekend, and I added some extra caffeine to the mix and snorted an ammonia capsule or two!

Cy, while we’re on the subject of Spike, should Spike be taken on an empty stomach or with the pre-workout meal? The Spike label says to take with food. Also, does Spike have any withdrawal symptoms like caffeine? If I take Spike today, and not tommorrow, I get a dull headache the whole next day. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ironbro,
Do as the label of your product instructs.
Spike has a small amount of caffeine in it, which would account for the withdrawal headache following cessation of use.

Thanks for replying so soon, how much caffeine is in each Spike capsule?

It’s a proprietary formula so it’s not readily released. I’m not allowed to disclose the exact amount. It’s small though.
Would there be anything wrong with taking one cap in the morning along with a cup of coffee (instead of my normal two cups)? I know that it has been mentioned that you should not include other caffeine substances along with Spike, but I just can’t live without my coffee.

Well, I’d first try consuming Spike without the coffee.
After that, if you feel you need more caffeine, a cup of coffee is probably ok.
