South Park - End of an Era?

Actually I thought last weeks was the best so far this season. I’m glad they brought Lemmiwinks back. I thought it was great when the Catatfish was talking about going bass to mouth, haha.

Loved the new ep this week. Had my tearing up in the first few seconds JUST because they mentioned Tim Tebow.

Did anyone catch the special they did a few weeks back that documented the creation of a typical South Park episode?

Basically, these guys (Trey, Matt and the other writers) don’t gather material or brainstorm between seasons - or even DURING the season, really. They used to, at first, but over time the process evolved to where they pretty much brainstorm, write and create an episode every week during the season.

So, seven days is what it takes to create an episode of South Park… it really shows a lot of pressure these guys (writers, animators, etc) are under when it comes to churning out quality episodes on such a short time line.

I don’t remember if they said specifically the point where they started working this way, just that it slowly whittled itself to that point from several weeks, to two weeks, to ten days, etc.

Given that some people have expressed concern over the past couple seasons of South Park, does anyone feel that this is a significant factor contributing to the “decline”? Or is it more a function of 10+ seasons and other side projects for Matt and Trey?[/quote]

They have been doing that for a number of seasons now, including some of the best seasons, so its not that.

Gotta agree. Randy is hands down my favourite character. One funny bastard!

I actually find that the more recent episodes have had me laughing harder than ever. Thats the beauty of south park IMO, they can make an episode in a few days and therefore mock the shit out of anything topical.

Personally I was crying laughing at those movie trailers: “Adam Sandler shits in your eyes, ears & mouth” and “It’s Jim Carey in… whatever you’ll pay to go see it, fuck you!” LMFAO!!!

As far as I know, Matt & trey are under contract until 2013, so plenty of more episodes ahead.

where can you watch new episodes? I usually use ALLSP.com but lots of popups on there now, I dont have cable.

If you want a site where you can download it right after it airs and a bunch of other shows, go here. eztv.it

Not SP but I’ll throw it in here. Easily the worst family guy ever tonight. I would’ve watched that Sarah McLaughlin animal cruelty spot in a loop than this, had I know what was ahead. That seems to be the old formula though. Make a molotov shitbomb of an episode, then when you follow up with something mediocre it looks like pure brilliance

Why do people even like Family Guy?

Anyone watch the new Beavis and Butthead yet? I’m about to watch it now.

Same reason people play the lottery. Hey, ya never know.
