I dunno how successful PX’s dental biz can be given his penchant for posting 24/7 on this site, but whatever, as a medical professional with his own practice at under 40 years of age, he’s got something going for him outside the whole lifting thing. he doesn’t need to compete. He’s content being a big gym rat.
Bodybuilding is an activity that is pretty much underground and very few people give a shit about it in the “real” world. So if I were a guy who devoted my life to it and actually competed (for little to no money except at the highest levels), but packed boxes for a living making just above minimum wage, I’d personally be annoyed at someone like X getting more attention than me on a bodybuilding forum, considering that bodybuilding is pretty much all I have – besides probably making muscle worship and G4P videos of course.
I think the BB forum of the website needs to make its goals clearer. If its purpose is to cater to actual competitors (like Stu, Zraw) OR middle aged men who want to have a successful career AND walk around as close to pro-size as possible (PX, steely), OR teens and kids in their twenties with plenty of time on their hands.

Seriously though, if that’s the authority this site deserves, maybe we should re-evaluate what sort of reputation we’ve garnered. I hold a deep love for T-Nation as I’ve been here so long, and have always benefited from the articles, discussions with like minded, well versed folks, and certainly done my best to share my own experiences.
It does bother me quite a bit when I see the quality of our forums here badmouthed on other web sites. Sadly though, there have been many accomplished, knowledgeable, and friendly folks who have come through these forums over the years who no longer contribute.
This site has quite a variety of sub-forums, and for people who have actually accomplished things in bodybuilding, or to have worked as coaches, have CSCS certs or kinesiology degrees and the like, to be treated rudely, and made to feel like they are completely incorrect in the ‘Bodybuilding’ forum by people who have neither done, nor earned any of that is just ridiculous.
While I certainly won’t say that the in-fighting and bickering is a good thing either, I do understand the attitude towards what seems to have become a regular occurrence with a particular member (whether trolling, or true disillusion, it changes naught).
It rightfully doesn’t make me want to chime in as much when I simply give examples of IFBB Pros who made well publicized use of certain training techniques as examples and discuss how every accepted technique Pros employ isn’t usually reduced to an article, only to have a rude reply as to my definition of the word ‘most’.
(On the other hand, you’ve got guys like BlueCollarTr8n, who disagreed with me, BUT maintained a respectful, friendly tone. The man is all class in my book).

The attitude of not giving a fuck because it is “just the Internet” is all fine and great, but the result indeed is that the quality of the BBing subforum is pretty crappy, especially when X enters threads. You might not care but someone like Stu does and since when is caring for something bad and “gay”? Just look at the TN’s HRT subforum for how good things could be, if people actually cared for quality.
