Something COOL!

While it was once a big deal to have a black head coach in the NFL, now it is hardly remarkable.

The world sure has changed.

If you truly meant no disrespect (and you comment reminds me of guys who tell racist jokes but who aren’t racist because they have a “black friend”), then you need to work on your social skills.

There’s a time and a place for making the “point” you made, above. This post (posted right before MLK Jr. day) was neither the time nor place.

If you can’t see why, then, seriously, you need to read step away from the anonymous Internet and get out into the world. First, before going out into the real world, at least read a few books about social interaction. Otherwise, you might be bitch slapped.

Anything by Jimmy the Bartender should help. (It should also be at your reading level.)

You sound more like you are describing yourself. Actually it is people like you with your politically correct smoke and mirrors that promote rascism. Describing some one as African-American or Mexican-American or whatever discounts them as an American.

We are all Americans. Racism will only end when people stop focusing on differences and start celebrating their commonality. We are Americans first and last not race-Americans, gender-Americans, religious-Americans. Cute comment on the Mens Health reference. From your writing and philosophy I’d of thought you followed Andy Rooney…

One other thing easy…

You’re right. The “cool” part was the fact that I (and others) hadn’t even thought about their race.

Tony and Lovie as just damn good Coaches.

Mufasa

Obvisouly you thought about it, otherwise you would have felt no need to bring it up. [/quote]

Actually read the post and try again. He said Deion brought it up. It wasn’t Mufasa’s thought, he was only commenting on it.

(Thanks, malone…!)

C’mon, guys…

This doesn’t have a damn thing to do with being “PC” or “non-PC” or downplaying ones gratitude and Pride at being American.

Deion brought it up because Tony and Lovie being in the Super Bowl WOULD BE HISTORIC!

Certainly you can agree that it would have AT LEAST as much significance as any stat you would think is important or any Super Bowl record.

Tony and Lovie are two of the Classiest guys in the NFL; and if truth be told, they would play the possibilities down as probably being “interesting”; but considering their age, deep down they would think that it was historic.

Anyway…it’s probably all going to be mute, because the odds are working against both their Teams…but the POSSIBILITY is still cool…

ZAP…! (That was your point).

Yep…I think New England is the betting favorite.

They are actually under dogs by three right now. But I think they will pull it off like usual.
Now, Saints and Bears are a whole different performing teams.
I give it to the Bears if its shitty weather.
But if its nice out, the Saints are going to the Super Bowl.

are blacks in England or Europe referred to as African Subjects or African Europeans? just wondering

…They are usually referred to as refugees from the Mid-East or from some God-awful Civil War in Africa…

Mufasa

perhaps the almighty maddox can provide a bit of wisdom on the subject:

Both coaches are great, no question. But I’m pulling for Dungy, and here’s why:

What impresses me most about Dungy is his resilience after the death of his son. To still maintain the head coaching job at the NFL level and carry on through that kind of heartache is inspirational. I’m sure he suffers and has a lot of pain that he’s dealing with, as would any dad who outlives his own son. But he hasn’t let his family, his team, or his city down.

Read this, you need to.

Thank’s, Brad!

Tony is a Class Act for sure…
