I’m gonna help you a bit since you seem slow. People adhering to the same religion = an ethnic group.
Funny thing is…he’s been supplying about 90% of the PWI most ignorant statements lately.
I’m starting to seriously question the reading comprehension of some of you…

Just saw this.
Thanks, but I bought it a while ago. Bargain table at Blockbuster. Just haven’t gotten around to watching it yet.
Edit: My daughter just reminded me that we actually got this one at a dollar store, not that it really matters.
Old school monitor. And why is T-Nation pink and purple? Did your cam do that?
It’s a Sun Microsystems monitor. Yes a CRT. We are poor (by U.S. standards anyway). The flash kept washing out the DVD and no flash was too dark so I did a quick and dirty digital exposure adjustment which produced the funky colors.

Etymology is fine, but usage is what primarily dictates meaning in vernacular linguistics. What other non racial voluntary commonalities also constitute an ethnic group to you? Is this limited to religion? If so why? If not then what are they and how many members does it require?
If 5 people gather to worship grape popsicles are they an ethnic group? What about 5 million? What if it’s not worship, but they just decide to found a “friends of the grape popsicle” society? Do they become an ethnic group over time if they survive long enough as a group? Say a few generations? Now they’re an ethnic group named grapesicles? What geographical proximity is necessary if any? What if there are 500 grapesicles in each of 75 countries? What if they do actually worship grape popsicles and have 500 members in each of 75 countries? Now it’s a religion and hence an ethnic group?
What this comes down to is either ethnicity can be defined as literally anything any number of people choose to be interested in together or it is limited to religion in non racial cases for some arbitrary reason. Or ethnicity is defined largely by having been derived from a common geographical area (put simply).
There are Arab Muslims and Arab Christians from the same village in the same country. What is the ethnicity of each? The most important question of all is why am I wasting time with all this?
I’ve met and know(n) many Muslims and none of them were violent. The fanatics are getting all the attention and giving the rest of them a bad name, which they definitely don’t appreciate. Nor do they appreciate being grouped in with them (the fanatics) by all the ignorant people who think they’re the same.
joebassin please don’t stop posting here, I know you’ve got some more hilarious ignorance in your head to repeat back from some UN document, this is great
Maybe he’s celtic’s cousin who decided to get into politics rather than lifting weights?

a peaceful muslim does not prove that Islam is not a religion of violence. Their history proves that they are a religion of violence. It’s like pointing at all of the Mongols who did not ride with Timujin/Ghengis and saying "look, the Mongols are a peaceful people . . . "

What happens when your friends are asked by their Cleric to take up arms and blow up the infidels. If they refuse they will be killed by the cleric, and if they choose to strap a bomb on themselves they will have committed suicide. This is what Islam is about. You must listen to your cleric, they are the only ones that can interpret the Koran. This is a lot like Catholicism back before the invention of the printing press. Just because your friends tell you to your face they are peace loving does not mean that behind the Mosque door they are hating your guts. The Koran gives the Muslim the ability to lie to the infidel.

If they claim it as their religion, they are the ones that need to step up and do something about it. If the head of the church I attended made similar claims, I would let them know my position, then leave the church taking my money with me. If they chose association with the religion of Islam, they are choosing association with these people.

The fact that they are peaceful toward you (assuming you are a heathen, and not a Muslim) just means they are bad at following the basic tenets of their religion.

No it’s not limited to religion.
The definition is: An ethnic group is a group of people whose members identify with each other, through a common heritage that is real or assumed. This shared heritage may be based upon putative common ancestry, history, kinship, religion, language, shared territory, nationality or physical appearance. Members of an ethnic group are conscious of belonging to an ethnic group; moreover ethnic identity is further marked by the recognition from others of a group’s distinctiveness.
Concerning the rest of your questions they are good questions
