I have taken to blending a lot of fruit and vegetables and other things into smoothies and dragging them around all day in a thermos I can sip. The problem is, sometimes I think that mixing certain things reduces their nutritional efficacy or ruins the mix. Generally, I have a pretty insensitive palate so I can down things some people would find undrinkable. So far my discoveries have been:
1.generally keep broccoli the hell out or in small quantities as it makes everything taste nasty.
2.eggs AND milk together makes it too damn thick.
3. dairy and green tea are enemies
Does anybody have any rules for foods that ABSOLUTELY should not go together in a blender? For instance, the smoothie I made today had:
4 cups spinach
3/4 cup berries mix (black, blue and rasp)
4 large strawberries
5 large eggs
1 serving Biotest Superfood (this stuff is good by itself, just experimenting with this instead of green tea)
1 gala apple for sweetness
this was blended with water to make what amounted to 5 cups of smoothie. any input?
Sorry, this is something you may substitute in place of broccoli, spinach, omega 3’s, bananas, etc. Sourcesalba.com, sorry for the what to instead of what not to.

this stuff is basically Chia, yeah? I would like to try this some time. The Aztecs had both this and Amaranth. They must have been some healthy people. Thanks for the tip. I do put oats in sometimes, so I’m open to grains in the smoothies.

It’s the white seed of the Chia, which is mainly black seeds. The white are the one with the power. I also use Hemp nut seed and flax seed which is good for fighting colesteral.
