Smoking AT the Gym?

bro thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard. she wants to smoke a cigarette who cares your walkign right by her and it bothers u that much? plus if shes that hot i would ask her for one just to stand there and strike up the conversation and get her # and im a non smoker. the only thing that i ever sacrifice proper nutrition and sleep is for pussy
a.) She is a woman.
b.) Smoking turns her off

Yes we should all bow down to the all mighty pussy. It should rule our every waking moment. We should perform every task with the ultimate goal of having more of it. Then we shall all gather at the nearest hooters and discuss with one another over chicken wings, about who has partaken of the most of that sweet fruit, and why that makes us the better man/woman for having done that.

er…no that’s ok. While I can’t argue with the more pussy part, I won’t sacrifice my moral values in pursuit of it. My dignity yes but never my moral values.

Tek: Let’s see. You have had problems with testicle sightings, smelly gym members, and now cigarette smoke outside your gym. Get over it, or maybe get over yourself. Possibly a home gym is in order. Unbelievable…

Don’t forget kids in grocery stores!
Or kids in grocery stores that smoke!

So, Just to confuse the issue a bit more-

How many of you anti-smokers like to fire up a joint, take a few hits off of a bong, or sniff a few lines of coke?

Smoke this 8==> and stop whining so much.

As a former smoker myself, I really HATE the smell of smoking. I would be totally disgusted if I had to deal with this coming out of my gym, of all places. However, I would deal with it, because in general it does no good to be an asshole. I have learned with age not to sweat the small stuff. It’s useless to harbor this much anger over something like this.
Sorry Tekgrl—try approaching this girl in a nice way. If it doesn’t work, you’ll have to deal with it. Personally, I’d just deal with it anyway. Why can’t we all just get along?

I gotta stick up for fighting irish just cause im from Jersey…take it easy tekgrl, people do shit in life that you arent gonna like, deal with it. Remember this saying, “you can tell the measure of a person by the things that upset them.”

I just wanted to quote this so I could laugh at it. I dont think I need to elaborate at the idiocy of what this guy just said. C’mon give me a break humans have been around for how long?

I’m pretty sure you misunderstood this statement. My point was that cigarette smoke could be expunged from the Earth forthwith and it would be a better place. There is no compelling reason for it’s existence beyond the individual’s right to do it, which right I support BTW.

Vehicle exhaust, human flatulence and now dust are things for which a sane expectation of entire avoidance is not possible. The contrast I was drawing was between the utterly unavoidable and the utterly preventable. You seem like a decent guy so I’ll leave that there.

For the record, I rarely encounter cigarette smoke and if I do it’s usually somewhere that I don’t have the right to complain about. Outside a gym where I’ve paid money to build my health is just unacceptable as you appear to also agree with which is the point of this thread.

Most of the rest of what you say I don’t find fault with, especially people with kids. I would go so far as to say that forcing young children to breath cigarette smoke indoors on an ongoing basis is tantamount to passive abuse.

BTW, I’ve never been a smoker in my life, though I have struggled in the past with severe overuse of alcohol and hence do not stand in condescension over someone else’s addiction. I only ask that they keep it to themselves.
tekgrl wrote:
If you actually bothered to read my other threads, I don’t have a problem with the gym. The old man balls? Please, a lot of guys agreed that no one wants to see that.

Sweat at the gym is to be expected…my post was a guy walking off the street and starting his wo smelling like a sack of shit.

I don’t mind feedback, but if you want to give me some shit, know your facts FIRST. If my post annoys you, then go to the next one dude.
Wow. You really like your complaining.

If this is such a big problem (enough to post on a forum regularly) why don’t you just find another gym?

WOW. Really?

Wait, I got it…

You would totally score that pussy BRO!!! YEA!!!

NAR!!!

So, now Tek hates children in grocery stores,or is it children in general. There is an older retired gentleman that hands out dollar coins to kids in the grocery store that I get my eggs, milk, etc. (small plug) from. The kids’ faces really light up.

Actions like this seem to be such a rarity in the inner city. Tek, I think you need to learn to hand out a little compassion and understanding of your own. Especially towards children. Hell, they’re the future.

Pretty good advice. I’ve found that being agressive doesn’t work as well as asking nicely.

I don’t smoke. Never did, never will.

But maybe you should. A lot of smokers claim it helps them calm down.

That or add some Midols to your supplements.

You’re definitely being whinier and more premenstrual on this thread than she is taking such a strong stand on this when it really has nothing to do with you.

To defend smoking in any way is the absolute pinnacle of stupidity.

Why is it even legal? If the FDA cared about your health instead of the dollar it would be as illegal as murder. But since there’s big money involved, its tolerated and I can only imagine the smiles on the fat cat’s faces when they hear some dumbass profess how its his/her right to pollute the air with carcinogens.

Talk about being a tool.

I agree. I don’t understand the hate for tekgrl. Having to walk through smokers huddling in front of the door sucks.

If you want to smoke go for it, to each their own. However, in my humble opinion to smoke in front of a gym, especially after a workout, is retardation at it’s finest. No matter how insignificant or benign the harm to others may be.

Yes, that is very relevant. I notice yours is also a cartoon character. Should I draw inferences from all your posts from that also, or did you have a meaningful idea on the topic?

Sometimes I just don’t understand people. Here we have a person being forced to breathe someone else’s poisonous smoke or else quit her gym and some people see her “whining”, that they can avoid by just not clicking on her threads, as being more of an issue than that. Oh the wondrous diversity of human nature.
