Smoke Pot in Santa Cruz

Hate to say it guys, but some stereotypes are true. Not all people who have ever smoked pot are potheads, but potheads tend towards lazy and stupid. I’ve seen the effects of long term consumption on motivation and general common sense and brains.

I do see a medical use for pain killing marijuana, but don’t kid yourself that pot is totally safe. Studies have shown decrease electrical activity present as holes on PET scans. this is your brain not working folks.

To be fair other things do cause this such as alcohol, but to maintain pot is safe and not addictive is not true. I have talked to people, doctor wise that is that deal with addictions, and they maintain pot can be very addictive.

I’ve seen the effect on my own sister in law. she is at home yet, has no driver license, a app. 2.4 from a crappy arts school /college, finds excuses not to get a job, ( hint, many piss test).

Tell me she is not an addict and she’s not in the loser category… And yes, she dresses like a hippy wears grateful dead ts and says man a lot.

so some guy that smoke sa joint now and then isn’t what i talk about as a pot smoking loser. unemployed hippies milking off of other people when they’re to lazy to work because they want to smoke pot is what I’m talking about.

And believe me, whenever there is a pro pot rally, you see plenty of that crowd.

Forget trying to justify smoking, are you over 18 in the united states FitnessDiva? if so your telling me that NOT ONE of your friends smokes marijuana.

What would you do if you found out? “I can’t be your friend anymore?”
That’s right none of them do. I don’t hang around people like that. Believe it or not, there are people out there who don’t.

That is kind of sad. There is a whole wide world out there you are missing.

You don’t drink, don’t smoke. What do you do?
Goody-two, goody-two, goody, goody, goody-two,
there must be something inside.”

Hhaha, sorry, reading your posts here reminded me of this.

Just a few links about marijuana, schizophrenia and schizophrenia-like symptoms.

I wouldn’t say I’m ‘missing’ it.

I’m pretty happy with my life. Fitness and health is my life. I love the way I live and apparently it’s working for me because I’m nearly 29 and people still think I’m 20 or 21.

lol.

Is anyone here going to this event in Santa Cruz? I told some friends and we might go check it out. Hmmm I wonder if I’ll be the only republican there? Guess I’ll keep that under raps. Some of those hippie chics aren’t to bad look’n. Well, the ones that know how to use a razor a least.

I’m going try and score some hemp seed oil. Good for the anabolic diet and full of EFA’s;^)

Not that I want to contradict your message about the possible effects of heavy smoking, but maybe that is what your sister in law is, a lazy bastard. What makes you think she would fare better without pot? Does she sparkle with ideas and energy when sober?

Your all out to get me, including me and ever one else for that matter.

Actually, marijuana can cause anxiety sometimes, but so can life.
Fitnessdiva wrote:
I think you take my ‘loser’ comment the wrong way. Not saying you can’t be a drug user and do remarkable things, but I think that if you are addicted to substances you are a loser at some level and with some facet of your life. To me that means I would never date or befriend that person. To me, relationships with good people are an important part, if not the most important part, of life.

I’m pretty content with my drug free life.
Sorry ma’am, I’ve been in a marijuana haze for over a month now, and there is a reason why this shit goes for $6000 a pound. It’s fucking tight.

I’m all about sobriety, but I would never be content with lame, assumptive, arbitrary generalities like “you are a loser at some level and with some facet of your life” if you smoke weed. That’s just a colossal load of shit.

Hey guys, I actually think it would be pretty cool to grow weed for a living. Why would anyone want to get a shit job when you can make $20K a month out of your basement?

Lemme ask you this question: WHAT WOULD YOU DO if you became permenantly physically debilitated for some reason and you could never do any manner of strenuous physical activity ever again?

Because you could go to jail?

Probably because you’re so emotionally immature.

By 28, most people are cool with the fact that other people do things they may not agree with.

Hard to say since she’s been doing it for over 8 years. but then again, some substances have a harder grip on some compared to others. I know some things about brain chemistry and pot is worse for some than others.

IMO, it’s best to stay away from illicit substances for a few reasons, and the addictive potential is one. Pot is very addictive for some, so it’s hard to have the cause or effect, lazy to begin with or lazy due to pot.

She is now a lazy ass bastard and I know pot didn’t help.

I’m sure I would find another way to focus my energy, depending on the limits of the disability. I’m actually quite a good artist, I’m very interested in science, sociology and politics. I’ve only chosen to focus on exercise science because I’ve always been very interested in fitness and health. I’d say overall I’m pretty well rounded.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO if your weed supply was permanently cut off or you were for some reason unable to get high or drunk or whatever else you choose to fill your life with?

At 28 most people are not any more ok with what other people do(they never are), so your personal attack isn’t valid at all. Plus I don’t care what other people do, I think drugs should be legal.

I just don’t want to associate with the type of people who are into that sort of lifestyle. Just like I choose not to associate with rapists, violent people, swingers, prostitutes, etc, I choose not to associate with drug addicts.

I think that people who choose to fill their free time with that sort of thing (excessive drinking or drugs) are missing greater things that life has to offer. To me, that’s sad.
Exactly, everything comes down to money, if the government could find a way to tax it like they do alcohol and cigarettes it would be legal.

Simple as that.
Iowa Code chapter 453B imposes a tax on “dealers” who possess, distribute, or offer to sell “taxable substances” as defined therein. The taxes imposed by Iowa Code chapter 453B are due and payable immediately upon manufacture, production, acquisition, purchase, or possession by a dealer.

Payment of the tax is evidenced by a stamp , label, or other official indicia permanently affixed to the taxable substance.

If I remember correctly the stamps are available from the department of revenue and they are not “allowed” to share you personal information with law enforcement. The prices for tax stamps are $750 for marijuana plants, $5 per gram of marijuana, $250 per gram of most any other controlled substance.

Of course this is only for dealers and not for users.

I know people who would do much better if they only smoked and quit alcohol totally, even though alcohol is legal. I don’t know a single person who would benefit from quitting pot and consentrating on alcohol. I’m talking of people who have already developed their vices, of course.

The catch to this is you must first have the goods to get the stamps, therefore breaking the law while trying to abide another law. You must present that you have an alotted amount to sell to buy the stamps, but possession without the stamp is illiegal, so you’re busted right there. It’s a nice little trap.
