To be fair, this is something Trump actually gets to be a SME on.
If there’s on thing the guy knows, it’s how to shit the bed with a restaurant.

It’s political-affiliation discrimination. I guess the owner can do what she wants, but it’s a bad look.
Combine that with Maxine Waters calling for the harassment of Trump staff or supporters and you have the optics of the left coming unglued.
What happened to tolerance and equality? Clearly the Democrats have abandoned that motto. Waters is dangerously close to the edge of the 1st ammendment. Calls to violence are not protected. Depending on what you define as ‘harassment’, she and those who echoe her sentiment cannot call on people to encourage violence. Her statement is dangerously close to calling for violence. Some may interprete ‘harassment’ as some degree of violence.
Aside from being a really dumb thing to do, it’s not going to change anybody’s mind, it will more likely cause people to dig their heels in.
So much for tolerance, inclusion and equality… This, I believe, is proof positive that all that talk was bullshit from the start. It’s at the very least, spectacular hypocrisy…
Something which everyone who chooses a side does. Every Dem, every Rep.
Context is everything. If Adolf Hitler walked into my restaurant I should tolerate him and consider him an equal? If he flew into your town would you send him a limousine?
Where did she say anything about violence? Did she say that they should get those sons of bitches out of there? Did she say she would pay for any legal expenses for anyone arrested for assault? This is where we are. Accept it.
Tell us more about your feelings on god and abortion.
Oh I think she has a future writing fiction novels or campaign spin for some gop candidate. Oh yeah she is good at lying could make a good living at it as she does everyday.
The best fiction tells the truth.
Hold up, my Friend…
Trump is FAR from innocent in all of the division we see in this Country…
He saw an opening where he could exploit people’s anger, fear and prejudices…he capitalized on it…and broadens the Gulf every time he opens his mouth or taps out a tweet…
People mostly roll their eyes and let an 80 year old blow-hard like Maxine Waters embarrass herself with her half-senile rants…and they move on…
Trump on the other hand? His words and views are “truth” to his followers.
And he has advocated violence and anti-democratic thoughts at more than one of his rallys and in more than a few tweets and rants.
He has been…and continues to be…the fuel thrown on the fire…
Happy to.
And that question was never meant as an veiled insult. It was sincere.
@ Juvenile. Thanks. That’s a pretty tame insult. I’m sure there are more colorful adjectives rolling around in your head.
It’s the internet dudes.
We’re real people.
No. There is no commandment greater than “Use your neighbor’s property as though it were your own, for he is a bigot.”
The internet is the perfect place to call someone else an asshole and be called an asshole, and just agree and move on. It’s not the place to harbor hard feelings.
That sounds like communism or right wing totalitarianism, not liberalism (as used today to mean the opposite of conservatism).
I’ve apologized to @EyeDentist more than once over the years. And he’s done the same. I’ve had my feelings hurt many times.
@ Hard feelings? We sometimes talk about some fairly deep things here. There have been some meaningful conversations that I wouldn’t have with someone I didn’t know well and trust on some level. I think I’m done with that.
For sure. But please don’t dismiss Maxine Waters as being a nothing to be ignored. She’s an elected representative in a high public office. She’s not some blogger from nowhereville.
It’s just that if everyone stopped talking to someone else because of the occasional insult, no one would be talking to anyone.
But this is where we are. And I’m sure a lot of these people have said all kinds of crazy things that we never heard about but with twitter and social media they are able to put it all out there…which they gladly do. The bar has been lowered…MAGA!
Not dismissing her, Puff…
But comparing her influence, reach, and the subsequent consequences of her words to that of a vulgar, divisive, and arrogant POTUS isn’t even remotely close.
Don’t do that. If she’s accountable enough to be a Representative in the House, and a representative of your party, then you should condemn her without any qualification that lessens it somehow. That makes you sound like you’re standing up for her because she’s on your side of the aisle.
I thought what Roseanne said was disgusting. And Samantha Bee and Peter Fonda were completely out of line. The comedienne who did the White House press party, particularly when she made a joke about abortion and Paul Ryan, - that was also disgusting. It went low on something that is really sensitive. What other topic would offend more of your friends on the right? I’ve seen liberals online stand up for all of them, except Rosanne. That’s damaging to your own position.
Fonda yes, but Bee? Ivanka, by putting herself in the political arena, opened herself up to criticism and even vulgar insults from comedians. Why should she get special treatment? It is nothing like what Roseane said. If you find Bee distasteful that is your right and I would never argue that point because we all have different tastes. But to say it was out of line is not correct. It was completely in line with political comedy.
I’d never use the C word for any woman. I don’t talk like that. Much less put it out in a public way on a television show. But I guess, she’s got a show called Full Frontal and it’s on some cable channel. I’ve never seen it, but I assume foul language is the norm. At one point I decided to watch Game of Thrones because I had read the first few books, then I realized that HBO is now a porn channel. I digress…
These are the times of #MeToo, we just had a lot of very public correction in demeaning or assaulting women. And she’s a progressive woman calling another woman a cunt. That’s very ugly, to say the least. I certainly wouldn’t defend it, like Ivanka had it coming. It’s certainly not classing things up for progressives. Not that they care about what people like me think. I assume they do not.
