Smartbulldog Has Passed Away

I have no respect for someone who feels the need to hide their opinion behind another identity. Agree or disagree with the masses, you are the uber douchebag for getting another account. Well done Mod Brian

Yeah man, there’s a difference. The ones in HS are bigger.

I think you’re giving kids too much credit here buddy. Either that, or you’re totally oblivious to the fact that MOST of them are braindead followers[/quote]

Hey, hey, I do not like that comment. [/sarcasm]

I do agree though. Very few people in high school can make educated decisions that go against the mass opinion. It’s very irritating.

But in those same 2 years congress has investigated AAS usage in athletics because they believe it sends a bad message to children. The key there obviously being “sends a bad message.” If they were investigating for the sole purpose of keeping the games clean because they are a backbone of American society it would be one thing; but it is their belief that the drugs being used are dangerous and “destroy” athletes.

Playing devil’s advocate on my own post however, the fact that many high profile and very successful athletes have used and are clearly none the worse for said usage, could be a positive thing for the perception of AAS.

Here’s hoping you’re right though, their legality is a big prevention for me personally.

I’ve thought of this too, but no one else (media wise) seems to think of it. Or if they do, it doesn’t push their agenda.

Besides, I remember before coming to this site, just “knowing” all those wrestlers that have died were due directly to roids.

Hide behind identities. Not me. He got it wrong. I don’t have another account. Your name must really be maximuxb huh? Gimmie a break that’s what everyone does online. Nobody operates under their real identity. You’d be suprised.

Just this realization alone really does limit what you can say to the kids.

Most of you already know this, but while I don’t use AAS, I certainly don’t take one side or the other about whether they’re good or bad for you. It’s a decision that (hopefully) an informed adult makes for himself. Yes, they are illegal, but I don’t think that’s the issue we’re discussing here. I highly doubt they’re the evil most people seem to brand them as, certainly no one takes steroids and then gets behind the wheel of a car ‘under the influence’ and kills people, but hey, alcohol is legal, and all of the studies that have been done prove that excessive consumption will result in a negative effect.

We’ve still got people talking about how Lyle Alzado’s use of AAS caused his brain cancer, even though his own Doctor has constantly gone on record disputing the fact. Admittedly, I’m no doctor, and all I can use as my own reference point is the studies I read, and the numerous people I have known who routinely mpartake of AAS. Nothing I have seen points my decision in the “steroids are bad, Mnn-kay” direction.

BICEPENVY- If you can show me one study that actually links AAS to coronary issues, I would love to see it. I’m sure folks with more medical knowledge than I have can rattle off the real culprits of heart disease, but somehow, I don’t think elevated testosterone levels would be on the list. Again, I’m not getting firey or angry here (I’ll avoid the pissing contests that seem to spring up on here), but I’ve never seen a single link. Linking the other “very real” drugs my friend was routinely using to his health issues… well yeah, that’s very easily supported by facts.

Funny how everyone here is a medical expert. Those drugs are NOT on the list of things that are GOOD for the heart.

Haven’t you guys seen the new commercials on TV?? http://www.isitlowt.com

There are tons of HRT offices, and now they are advertising on TV. It’s all in the packaging. If you take Testosterone for old age, then it’s OK. If you take “steroids” when healty in order to be stronger and look better, or to compete in sports then the hormone gets a scary name like steroids, so then it’s BAD.

As long as people abuse AAS, it will always be bad in society, and certainly something we keep away from kids. Add the media’s goal of emasculating all men and all things, and AAS use will never align with the mainstream media. After all, chicks nowadays don’t like a man to actually be a man…they want skinny, soft boy toys with no fat, ripped abs, and a cool haircut who bring them soy products and does them favors upon demand.

hahaha true.

Maybe it will be like the ban on alcohol way back in the day. They thought it was horrible and banned it, but people kept drinking and since it was what the masses wanted it was again legalized. Oversimplification but you get the point.

I’m hoping that if HRT becomes very common place, such as say 70% of men/women in the US with a poor hormone profile get on HRT, that the class of the drug will at least be dropped if not legalized and taxed.

Even if the best AAS gets is put in the same schedule as weed I will be happy.

I write just like I am everyday. Not all of us are bullshitting or creating new personalities online. There are enough people who know me off this forum to know this as well. Some of us don’t use our real names because there are weird fuckers like you trolling the internet.

I guess it makes you feel better to think everyone else is just as fake as you are.
