Agreed 100%! Both Sensgirl and I were incredibally impressed that you were able to get back out there and nail it the way you did.

Thanks, that means a lot coming from the two of you.
I wish they would hurry up and post all the results. I want to see all the minutiae of how the guys did yesterday.

My two first thoughts were:
1 - She’s goin’ to be pissed now!
and
2- Glad I got that one on video!

Thanks. That’s very kind of you. You don’t win though if you go home and cry. I like winning ![]()
Sadly, I only came in fourth over all ages and weight classes. There were some really strong women there.[/quote]
Regardless, you did a GREAT JOB!!! Hell! your stronger and have bigger balls then 90% of the guys I see at my local YMCA who are doing there so called lifting.

Thanks very much. Thanks too for the help and the video and the coffee and the batteries ![]()
I wanted to see how the men did. Dave Walters was close to Becker for best lifter.
Quite a few people lifted raw as well.
You never cease to amaze me.

That’s kind of the reaction I got at work today when someone overheard me singing an Air Supply song alone in my office while I worked.
Thursday January 27
Today I received my new squat suit that I ordered the middle of December. No more custom for me. I got a Super Centurian 32 regular stance. It’s the same one I bought two years ago that’s continued to be my go to suit. My old one is the one I squatted in last weekend. Boy does the new one feel different. I guess they really do stretch out over time. Also, the straps are much wider which is nice. It’s super tight in the hips but I’ll have to take the straps up a bit which is perfect.
Of course I had to try it out. I wanted to get a feel for it. I wedged myself into it hanging from the rack and liberally applying baby powder.
It looked like this:
135-some just to bend in it a bit
225-3 straps down
275-2 "
295-1,1 "
315-1 straps up/no wraps.
At this point I pulled it off. It felt like I’d blown my sinuses out the front of my face. I’ve had a cold for a couple of weeks (which may have contributed to balance issues and my squat fail). For some reason, when I hit 315 tonight, the pressure in my sinuses was pretty intense.
155-5 raw
175-3 "
185-3 "
I’ll be training raw until mid February when I start to gear up for nationals. I’ll be training in the new suit. After nationals, I’ll mostly use my old suit for training. By comparison, it feels like a soft fuzzy blanket.
Bench
bar-10
95-12,12
OHP
55-13,11,9
DB rows
42-3x15
10-15 minutes light cardio cool down.
LOL - at the feel of the old squat suit that probably still leaves bruises after use!
You are back at it pretty quick after a meet - how are you feeling?

Air Supply??? Oh man, I think I’m in love…
Beautiful work on your meet.

I had planned to leave it until Sunday but my new suit came. I defy anyone to get a new suit and not try it out immediately.
I do still feel a bit knocked about so I kept it pretty short and light except for the few reps in the suit.
Every time I start thinking about custom ordering a squat suit from Titan you report another story of completely absent customer service. Guess I’ll be sticking with stock sizes.
Julie, no one could deny your passion for powerlifting! Inspiration lives here.

Actually the one I just got is a stock size. I ordered it through our Canadian dealer and it may have taken so long because he likely waited to send a bunch of orders. I don’t think I would get a custom again. I’ve discovered my own tailoring skills ensure that I can customize any suit far better than Titan could. They can only go from a couple of measurements but I can tweak things until it suits me.
The benefit of custom is that they pay for return shipping if it doesn’t fit perfectly. If you have to have a stock one tailored, you pay the shipping. Of course, you do your own tailoring, O, so that may be irrelevant to you.
You got a stock 34? Hmm. That’s the size I was thinking of ordering. Maybe I need smaller. My DL suit is a 28. Is your suit competition fit or meet fit? I gotta get some real gear eventually. Everything I use is well worn and was owned by several others before me.

It’s actually a stock 32. I have a stock 32 that I got two years ago when I was 123. If I were you the biggest I’d go is 32 and maybe 30. At one point I had a 28 and the only problem was that it was too short in the body. I had that at 123.
wow - I was totally shocked by your falling and so damn impressed by how you handled. You’re my hero, truly.

It seems to be going around. Someone else who posts here had the same thing happen at his meet on Saturday. His was his opener though which would be really hard to come back from. He crushed it on his second.
Sunday January 30
Deadlift - conventional/raw - me knees are still bugging me from pulling at the meet so I’m switching it up a bit to give them a break
135-5
185-3
225-5x3
These were hard, slow and ugly
Deadlift against thick green bands. By rep 4 and 5 I found these tougher to lock out than the time I pulled 435 off boxes.
135-4x5
CG bench reverse bands (minis) to 2(ish) board
115-12
135-10
155-7
Bunch of ab and core stuff. I got a work sheet from the high school coach. There are 10 different core type work outs with 4 exercises in each group. It’s nice for me because ab stuff bores me and I do the same thing every time.
Push up/X stand thing (not sure if I did them right)
10/side
Wipers
2x10
Supermans
3x10
Standing cable crunches
3x20
