when I know I’ll tell ya. Oh! Are you trying to go up a wt class?
No, I’m not trying to go up, I’m trying to fill out my current weight class. Last year, we followed the IPF weight class change so instead of dropping to 57, I lift at 63 but last meet I weighed in at 58.8. I’m not competitive enough at that size so I’m eating and squatting.
On another unrelated to training note, BB and I are getting married in October. I still remember the first time I saw him at my first ever meet. He and another friend were posing for a picture in their bench shirts in the warm up room. I didn’t know who he was at the time but I lassoed him the following summer

That Coan Phillipe program is tough. I must admit that I started and did not finish it last spring. But I do think it was the Coan influence that got me pulling modified sumo.
I’ve never seen a high school meet. I don’t think many high schools here have powerlifting teams.
We haven’t historically had much high school PLing because the big important high school football coach (name rhymes with Schmave Grogan) doesn’t let/encourage/believe in his kids powerlifting. Without the support of the people who are most closely tied to male high school athletes, you just aren’t going to have much growth for PLing at that level.
They’ve had CO high school PLing for a couple of years, but I think it’s still a club/not CHSAA sport.
I think that’s one reason what Ron does is cool, he works with the awkward skinny boys and teaches them to lift and be disciplined etc.
And ouro, CONGRATS on the wedding!
Congrats on the engagement you two!! You guys are great together, and compliment each other so well, I am so happy!
And the Coan Phillippi DL program… works well, at least it did for me. I found that not only my deadlift went up almost 40 pounds, but my grip really improved as well. It will tear your hands up though, and near the end of it, I was forced to use straps on some of the accessory stuff because my hands were hamburger.
I have been thinking about doing it again… but am in the middle of the Wendler BBB 3 month challenge. Perhaps after.
Miss you guys!

Thanks for the well wishes. Maybe we should have a baby and really fuck everyone up.
I hope the Coan- Phillipi cycle has such positive results for me. I did notice that my hands were cut up after the first day.
