I feel like a wuss watching you walk out that 315, gain control of it, force it back up and just drop it back in the rack… you my dear, are a badass!!
Saturday February 25 - Field trip to Andy land (Phoenix Fitness, Ancaster)
We got there and realized we’d forgotten the chalk for deadlifting.
135-5
185-3
225-3
275- 3 x 1 add suit bottoms. My grip went at the top of all three reps with no chalk. The bar wasn’t a cheap chrome one but it wasn’t like my tpb either. Normally it’s not an issue because we have chalk. I ditched the suit bottoms because my grip wouldn’t be any good on anything heavier
225-bunch
245-bunch more
265-few singles
225-5,6 9.5 (pulled with straps on the last set) All reps paused.
Despite the no chalk disappointment, I worked on technical things. I tried setting up and rolling the bar on the ground towards me. I like this a lot. The bar didn’t feel quite as dead and came off the floor very fast.
Snatch grip DL
135-10
185-10
205-9
CG bench
75-10
95-8,7
That was it. We actually spent quite a while deadlifting. Then we went to look at pillows. They were $200 each so we went to Home Depot. I’m thinking of doing some work on my basement apartment bathroom depending on my tax return so we priced a few things out.
I can’t believe you had 315 on your back! You look so tiny in the videos and it looks like a walk in the park for you to do.
Have you been noticing that the core work has been helping your lifts. I’ve been thinking about adding in some light core work during warm ups.

Thanks for the nice compliment. I’ve found that the heavier the core work I’ve done, the more it’s helped.
Solid work as always Ms. O

for some reason this was very funny ![]()
Everytime I check in here I am amazed at the weights that you’re moving. Nice!!
Damn, that’s excellent work. That 315 was impressive and it’s even more impressive given that you had to regain control of it.
$200 pillows? Geez…
james
Your training is always freaking impressive.
Nice work. $200 pillows? fer real?

“Those aren’t pillows.” And “size matters”.

The pillows are made with the fancy astronaut tempurpedic memory foam. fwiw, the mattress is $5,000. I decided I could live with my current pillows.

My lower back is still smoky from deadlifting on Saturday. I also did a little bit yesterday as well to try a couple of things out.

Are you laughing at me???
Yes I did actually mean it seems less dead. Because it’s rolling a bit, it has more kinetic energy.

I’m sad today because my van is on it’s last legs. BB was able to find me a good deal on a new (to me) car with the van as a trade in. I get pretty attached to things like the van and even though it’s rusting out and dumping antifreeze like diarrhea, I’ve done a lot in the van including using it to drive all over Ontario to pick up things to build my home gym. The car is in good shape but it’s just kind of meh.
Sorry to hear about you van.
That squat PR vid was great. Especially because it looked like you almost lost it there. 0_0
I find watching lift vids to be good for the core, I was helping you out there. Ha ha.
I also never noticed that you did a lot of upper back work(every lift day?) until Spock mentioned it. Hmmmm
I do core every lift day because I find it boring and I hate it. Grrr.
Nice fronties!! :)!!! ![]()
My parents had an Chevy Beauville Van through out my entire childhood all us kids would load up in. One of the ones from the early eighties with sky blue and white stripes. I still would LOVE an Astro Van. Those are just cool. I too am very fond of my car, a Rav4 and hope she never dies.
I always hate having to stitch cars. Its just annoying.

Yeah, to comment on that ^^^
I am actually finding my core to be improved even after just a couple weeks of doing it more frequently. Actually, probably less then a couple weeks…
I feel like I have way more control over it. That was the same thing I found with upper back work. The more I worked it, the more mind muscle connection I had. Maybe it’s not just about making it stronger, just about activation.
JUST A THOUGHT.
Awesome front squatting, BTW. But you should know that by now, ha-ha.
