So if I’m following this correctly, they were smarter back then because they had more important shit to worry about(more important than the decision to bring life into the world)? So people today aren’t as smart because we don’t have more important shit to worry about?

It is brilliant. Look at all the discussion it has caused or inspired (at least in this thread). Naturally it was something that could only really be done once.
