True. (Silly is a gay word.) However, the point of this thread wasn’t to try and show how corrupt the FDA was, it was supposed to provoke an idea that maybe we can be doing more. I understand that it is a guidelin. You say that some people need a rude awakening, but I disagree that we have to leave it at that. That is just too close minded.

How can fat asses get motivated to change? A heart attack? It seems like suicide if you think about it. If they know what they are doing is damaging their health, it kind of is a slow death by choice. If a man was jumping off a builing I sure as hell wouldn’t just walk away. I’d stay and think of ways to get his crazy ass down. That is what the they need to be doing.

It’s not like anyone in this country is following that guideline anyway…

Yeah I understand what you’re saying. Yet isn’t it weird? You see people get fatter and unhealthier year by year, you’d think they would get a clue why. Then they don’t do one fucking thing about it until their doc brings up something on a simple physical or some blood work.

Maybe it could be that it’s so widespread now. They look at others and say hey, they’re like that to so who cares!

With obesity effecting the costs of health insurance/meds for the rest of us, I see where the burden on us lies.

So yes in that regard I agree, there should be better ways to educate the masses.

Reality scene is always booming. They should do more shows like biggest loser, yet emphasize more on proper nutrition.

Dude, I’m not speaking to be a dick. But if you knew enough about the food and nutrition industry, particularly the fields of public health and community nutrition, you might not say the things you do.

Google “community nutrition”. Or pick up that book Food Politics. You clearly don’t have a broad knowledge base on community nutrition.
