As far as rifles, I really need something more CQB ready…at least my shit already has bayonets attached.
I got a 10.5" AR that is GREAT for CQB…but it got too loud so I put a silencer on it.
Now it’s almost as long as a 16" AR but much quieter. I don’t want my ears to start bleeding if I have to shoot it indoors.
I thought silencers were illegal?
Unless there are state laws prohibiting Class III/Title II firearms in a particular state, sound suppressors are legal to possess with a $200 tax stamp approved by the ATF and your local law enforcement. Same goes for machine guns made prior to 1986, rifles with barrels under 16", and shotguns with barrels under 18".

Depending on the state, all you have to do is jump through some ATF Class III hoops, pay a fee ($200 or so?), and have a clean record.
Ain’t that cool? I’ve been looking into getting a can for my Glock. Why? 'Cuz I can. Same reason as the dude at the Phoenix rally w/ the AR slung over his shoulder.
This.
Silencers have never been illegal. Neither have machine guns. Actual full auto machine guns.
You just need tohave the appropriate paperwork completed and approved, and have a LOT of money. I could buy a real M4, full auto and all, but it would set me back damn near $25k. Then you need to pay $200 to the ATF to have the paperwork approved. All in all it takes a few months to get into possession of one. Make no mistake, NFA is a patient man’s game.
Now, machine guns that were made after 1986 cannot be owned by anyone except LE/mil/or SOT dealers. That mean the Glock 18, cool as shit as it is, cannot be owned by mere mortals here in the US.
Actually, I have a fund set up to get a pistol can for my Glock. I’m thinking of a SWR Trident9 or AAC’s new Ti-Rant. I have to admit I haven’t put much in it since I’ve discovered Biotest…
The Sig is a nice weapon. Only fired the 220 once at my club. A good friend of mine used to own a 226. It was his only gun and we put 10’s of thousands of rounds through it with no problems, even the cheap stuff. I’m not a fan of the HK USP. Trigger and grip felt uncomfortable to me. Seems reliable enough though.
I’ve always been a single-action kind of guy so always carried a 1911 of some kind. Wish I still could. Unfortunately my duty gun is now a G17. Well it’s not really unfortunate, it’s a great little gun. I just miss old slab-sides.
As for CQB, I used to have a Vektor LM6, which is pretty much a Galil SAR. Loved it to bits! With the stock folded it was only 22 inces long. If I wanted to reach out and touch something a bit further out, I’d just pop out the stock. Even extended she was only 32 inches. Also gotta love those 35 round mags. Only disadvantage was the weight and losing about 500ft/sec from the short barrel.
Around the same time I also had Protecta shotgun with a 14 inch barrel. Chunky as hell but a very intimidating weapon. This was MY nightstand gun (we had concrete walls inside and out) I prefered it to the old Striker, which didn’t eject the sent cases. It was still a bitch to load, but me thinks that if the job wasn’t done with the first 12 00’s and slugs, you’re dead anyway.
I’ve since moved to a place where I can’t own these sorts of things anymore. Now I just have my duty gun at work and Mossberg 500A at home. Better than nothing!
I like this plan.
Lasers are for pussies… plus, they work both ways.

are you planning on sniping with your handgun? if my handgun is drawn, i’m using it. plus you then don’t require to move into a standard shooting stance. plus i know i’m going to hit you.
watch the whole video. it’s not long. then you’ll get it i think.

I’m with you, man. I was trying at some humor. My G19 has the guide rod mounted laser sight and I dig it.
Therizza was talking about using a grenade launcher mounted to his sig 220 to mark targets with white phosphorus. I went another direction with the jest and was not funny.
But speaking of lasers, I wouldn’t mind picking up a little S&W Airweight 642 with some crimson trace grips. Sweet little pocket gun that.

yeah man, crimson trace is where it’s at. just wish they weren’t so friggin expensive so i could buy more than one w/o going into the poor house

X2…
I don’t have the funds leftover after all the bulk 5.56, .45, and 9mm Win. white box I’ve been buying.
Also, that chick in your pic is stacked, HolyMac. You cropped the photo the wrong way.

btw, i checked out that airweight 642. the one with the fully enclosed hammer is pretty badass, and i like that it’s chambered for +P loads.
Hell yes… and there’s an airweight in .357 mag, too. Practice w/ .38 and carry .357! Bet that lil sucker breaks your wrist after 5 rounds. After one speed reload adrenaline will be the only thing keeping your grip on the weapon. I’d pick up a hammerless .38 +P for the my lady and tell her to shoot through her purse, jacket, bikini… whatev. point and click interface.
On topic of bigger boom, I played with the idea of getting a Glock 29 (10mm) as a carry piece for a while. Follow-up shot accuracy kinda goes out the window once you go above .45, though (at least in my mitts).

kinda threadjacked there, sorry OP.
which is why you get a crimson trace! ta-da!
lol, agreed, sry OP. sig’s still a pretty cool pistol

Anything having to do with firearms is cool in my thread. AND THIS IS MAH THREAD!
I’ve got a M3X rail-mounted taclight for my G30… ridiculously bright. It’s more ‘blind and fire’ than ‘point and fire’. The light clicks off after every shot, though. Must need to adjust the toggle or something.

That shouldnt be happening. Send it in for warranty work.

There’s an allen-style screw holding the finger toggle in place. Maybe I can just tighten it down so it won’t flip back to ‘off’ after a shot is fired?
I hate sending stuff in. Yeah, it’s worth it to get it fixed… but still.
My blaster will look so naked on my nightstand next to my shaker bottle, lotion, and kleenex. (that’s what everyone keeps by their bed, right?)
