Noooooo. When I do them, I lift my feet out in the air and land FULLY on my ass/spine like a Seated Senton move. Plus, I do them right to the floor.

You know, sadly enough, when I first got to high school, we had no squat racks (got them my junior year). So, we would put the weights on the bench (bench press), dip our heads under the bar and sit up with it. Then we would squat down to the bench and back up. Bouncing off of the bench was the rule, not the exception. I’m not sure how any of us are still able to walk.

Next day follow-up: Between the benching and the yardwork, my shoulder is locked up tight today. Freaking HURTS. Ice/heat/tennis-ball, no avail.

Have chiro tomorrow, so I’m gonna see if she can hook me up to the 'lectric shock therapy machine or something.

Slept all day.

Hey I have a date with my chiro tomorrow too. I don’t think he does electro shock therapy but maybe I can talk him into it. He’s more of an ART guy and I suspect he’s going to make me cry before I leave. I’ve heard him make some of our power lifters scream like little girls. He’s always a good time.

I hope you enjoy your visit as much as I’ll enjoy mine

O_S- Chiro went well. I told her about my appt. with the ortho about the shoulder and the pending PT. She found the knot(s) in my shoulder in about, oh, 5 seconds and did some magic. She said I need some deep tissue work. I hate M.D.'s. I love my chiro.

Deadlift
C2:W1
Sumo:
260x5
300x5
340x9 – This is some kind of rep PR…

RDL
225x10
315x6
365x3

Hang Leg Lift: 10 + 10. I realized my fat ass can’t touch the top bar with my toes. This does not make me happy.

Foam roll, stretchy, etc.

So… I had a burst of energy today to get that 340x9, but by the time I finished my last RDL, my lower back and hams were way fatigued. Interesting.

What did I do different today? Had insatiable appetite today. 3 pieces of cold pizza for breakfast, 1# of steak mid morning, 2 sandwiches around 2 pm (1 ham .25#, and one PBJ both on 6" rolls). Was in a great mood because I just got some cool database work from my boss and $3 million in pending projects (read: good employment outlook), so y’all keep using that electric, gas, and water-- keep your utilities busy so they need to buy our software

Gonna find a sports massage person to tackle this shoulder because I don’t have faith in the P/T. We’ll see Thursday.

On another note-- I’ve realized that I need to cut some weight. This has been a pretty successful ‘bulk’ over the past year, but I think I’ve hit my threshold. I’m not going to drop it fast like, using that “liquid diet” this site is famous for. Rather, I think I’m going to do some kind of carb cycling and start slowly dropping calories into the low 3000’s and see what happens.

I don’t want to lose too much size and certainly not strength. I’m entertaining the thought of doing a PL comp next year if the stars are aligned and I want to be in the 220 class because all my lifts really suck… Will discuss star alignment later…

On another another note, just got my Inzer knee sleeves today (after 3 weeks) from House of Pain. In the meantime, my wristwraps came in from Inzer in less than a week. That’ll learn me.

Are the knee sleeves supposed to be really, really tight before you crank down the velcro or should they slip on just a little snug then you crank them down? I think they might be too small. Maybe they’ll end up being elbow sleeves…

I want a video of the hanging leg lifts.

So when are you thinking of starting to drop weight? btw, I hate you for what you ate today. I ate pretty much the same thing I eat every day but because I’m tracking it and cutting it back a bit, I want much more.

My chiro made me scream. There was love there but it was twisted.

Mmmmm maybe I’ll follow this diet tomorrow. My weight keeps dropping and I’m trying to keep it up. I had ice cream cake tonight which was quite delish. I need to start taking EVOO shots or something before bed. Maybe tomorrow I’ll do:

Breakfast - 3 slices of cold pizza
Snack - 1# of steak
Lunch - 2 sammies - ham and pbj
Snack - 1# of bacon
Dinner - pasta and chicken
Snack - 1 tub of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream

Thoughts? Critiques?

Nice work on the deads.

and in the kitchen-

Hanging leg raise are hard as hell for bigger people- I love them but Im a skinny midget.

I envy you and OB_s the chiro- My neck is too touchy to touch and they all want to touch it.
I do a masaage exchange 2x a month- I took a license for it so its easy to trade.

Dare I say it- I post it in every old fart thread

YTWLI my man you gots to do it.

I like it. I call it the “P.I.M.P” diet.

You forgot “PWO Swedish Fish”.

I have actually thought about going to ‘massage therapy school’. Seems like a good little niche, especially around here where there ain’t dick for sports related therapies. I’m not into the aroma and rock and star alignment modalities, though… Good old fashioned ‘dig in and knead’ kinda stuff. Probably good for ‘grip work’, eh?

Uh, that video was, uh, abducted in a brief but devastating alien attack outside my gym. My only hope is that I managed to introduce shitty execution of hanging leg lifts to a hostile alien race… THEY’LL NEVER HAVE STRONG ABS NOW!!! MUAAAHAHHAAHAHAAA!!!

re: food. Today’s breakfast: (Day after deadlifts)

  • Ham sandwich
  • Handful of tortilla chips
  • 1/4 c. rice (cooked) with 2 scoops of MD (like hot cereal)
  • 1/4 can Spike Shooter

And now for something completely different.

Pillow Basalt.

Bedding cleavage.

You make it all sound so sexy. Like hard rock porn.

I love it when men whisper geology terms into my ear…limestone plain. Love that one.

Mmmm PWO Swedish Fish. Think it would be overboard to have both swedish fish AND fuzzy peaches?

I think you should go to massage therapy school, take a couple road trips to TO to practise over the summer, then anytime you want to practise a new technique after that, fly out to Cali. I’ll even be so nice as to be your test subject for free. As long as you supply the Fuzzy Peaches

On a (somewhat) serious note, O’s (and mine as well) chiro is a mean mean man who likes to make people squirm, yell and cry (none of it in the good way). In addition to him, I have a massage therapist who digs her fingers so far into my muscles that I feel like I’m going to die. She worked on my neck for a while yesterday and I felt like a bobblehead after because it was finally loose. I swear those weren’t tears in my eyes either… my contacts just got a little irritated…

I didnt’ even get to “overthrust emplacement” and, of course, enjoying nappes between thrusts.

I loved the course- I took it in my mid twenties, no esoteric junk- no patchouli or chakras
lots of elbows, lots of digging, even adjustments very similar to rolfing or structural integration so yes good old fashioned strong as hell massage.
I just wasn’t a saavy business type at that age- and after dragging my table up 5 floor walk ups in Manhattan and old queens asking “is that all” or or “arent you forgetting something” or for “grip work” it gets old.

I did work on allot of dancers, ballet types so that was good- but its a hard living.
Now I would do it with a gym or spa or work with a chiro, but to recertify in NY state is a pain
and expensive.

but really its about the post work out swedish fish
