You got it! The bench has the slightest incline, may 10degrees, but basicially a flat bench HS. In fact, I put a plate under each ‘foot’ to bring it up just an inch or two. Was still below my pecs though.
DEFINITELY feeling it today like I haven’t in a long, long time. I wish my regular gym had that. Felt great, but benching with a bar still kinda hurts.
It’s only $5 and 30-35 minutes on a non-icestorm day. I’m thinking of going there for chest days, maybe shoulders, too.
So guys…do we have to call him “The squat doctor” now? Or DaddySquat ? Mr. “fillingoutyourtrousersnicelythesedays”?
Just trying to keep up.
Z-Man.
Oh yeah, great lifting.

Everytime I look at your avatar, I am drawn to the person seated in front of you… with no face. It reminds me of the guy from that old Metalica song/video (old time movie) where the guy has no arms, legs and face… he can hear but cannot talk (mute). Freaks me out.
Oh… nice lifting dude!
HA! He ain’t nothin’ to look at anyway
(He’d appreciate that comment). Old colleague-- big dude.
Incidentally, his fat ass is the reason we flipped the raft that day. The river was crazier than usual following two weeks of rain, so a lot of tributary contribution.
Just as we hit the trough behind the standing wave at ‘Whitewasher’ (name of the wave), fatass STANDS up and drives the raft down and falls on me (was guiding). That’s the part of the wave you want to have speed to get over the crest. The sequence of events is in my profile… LMAO! GREAT DAY ON THE WATER!!
Still looking good SD. I like to alternate between 2 exerises at a time as well.
Damn my man you’ve done some great shuuutff while I’ve been lazin’ away! It’s been fun catching up on you’re new PR and wood stacking adventures. We used to heat entirely with wood. Cut down, block, split, stack and burned 10 cords a year for 5 years. But - everything but the burning was during the summer/fall.
Dude in the avatar HAD a face. Then he went rafting while SteelyD was on a cutting diet. Poor bastard spash-paddled him and that’s what happened…story goes!
Oh yeah, great lifting too.
I thought he was a Zombie, so I tried to take out his brain with a paddle.
beat em, bash em, burn em. Kill the Brain, Kill the Ghoul. (bad zombie movie reference)
Waaaay behind on updating my log…
No real 1RM PR’s since the 405 squat and 385 DL. I cannot break 400 with the deadlift. It’s all at the bottom. Above my knees and lockout, I’m fine. I just can’t get the weight more than a couple inches off the floor…
Had a WICKED rep PR squat night last night (below), so instead of posting the past couple weeks of pretty much more of the same, I’ll start with that. ![]()
Did a progress pic today. Arms at 17.5+, so this eating and lifting shit seems to be working ![]()

You are kicking ass and looking Huge…
Widowmakers Rock.
Im gonna ask you, are you on witness protection?
what is a nice Italian Jersey boy doing out in Maine?
How do you even buy groceries?
I am teasing, years ago my dad moved out there in the boonies of Maine and had a hard time initially without his Brooklyn Groceries.
Great Squats and looking Big.
kmc
PS.
I have found Snatch grip deadlifts
and Snatch grips at a deficit of +6" or 8"
are helping me get it off the floor.

I found speed deadlifts a la WSB from a deficit helped. I loaded the bar with 35’s, and if the bar even budged, I was getting it. If I fail, the bar ain’t moving.

HA!! Thanks
It’s a battle not to get too huge in the belly…

Uhh, I’m not allowed to, uh, talk about that…

This nice Jersey Italian boy needs to fish and hunt year round and needs to live in the woods, and needs no more than about 100 people per square mile to be happy…
Food has been the biggest adjustment for the past 10 years or so. Not any real culinary ‘diversity’ up here. I used to bring cases of stuff back from Jersey on family visits. It’s gotten better the past few years because the markets have larger warehouses in Boston that supply up here, plus, one chain was bought out by a huge chain which includes Acme Markets (Philly), so we get some of products available down there now.
Its good, I an a New Yorker through and through city kid my entire life.
I like to get away too. I just know how hard the culinary aspect of living more remotely can get.
We getaway to the mountains of Pennsylvania
and it can be hard to get certain foodstuff
there too.
