That’s okay - I know my inner child can beat up his inner child.

Hey dudes - thanks for the well wishes!

I don’t have to move to CO, just have to visit the HQ once in awhile, although I’m trying to talk the wife into moving out there. Probably end up near the Philly office… Hmmmmm, Philly or Colorado… (duh!)

j_willy - I was actually born in S. Jersey – SOUTH of the Mason-Dixon line

Was an awesome trip out there. I’m setting myself up for some whitewater, fishing, and hiking action in the future.

Got to work out 3 times last week-- 2 with weights and 1 ‘cardio’.

The hotel I was in has an agreement with the “24 hr Fitness Center” (I think that’s a chain) where if you show your room key, you get in free.

I’ve never been in a gym (or whatever it was) that huge. Seas of cardio machines, bosu balls, and video monitors. Had a row of benches, a row of Hammer Strength Machines, one squat rack and one power rack. Of course of the million dumbbells on the wall and one squat rack, there were lines to curl in the Goddammed squat rack.

I’m in love with Hammer Strength machines. I was literally disoriented by the shear size of the joint, so I broke my workout into 2 full body sessions-- 1) Because I wanted to use the HS machines, and 2) I didn’t have a lot of time, 3) wanted to maximize workouts because I couldn’t do my normal split.

Day 1 (Tue last week): HS Incline Presses, HS Incline presses (flatter angle), Front Squats (typical weights), HS Rows (freakin LOVED these).

Day 2 (Wed, 430 AM): Recumbant Bike, 35 minutes

Day 3 (Thurs): HS Presses (flat), Military Presses (typical weight/rep/sets), HS Rows (same machine as Tuesday, higher reps), Power cleans.

I went for high volume on the 2 weight days. I don’t remember how many sets I did, but I was in for 2 hours and left nothing at the gym both days. I knew I’d have a lot of recovery time because of the flight times and weekend.

Ironically, on the road, I ate great! A few steak salads for dinners, free eggs/sausage every morning at the hotel, IHOP omellettes a couple times for lunch. Had my trusty protein powder, bars, and almonds during the day in between meals. Lots of freaking caffeine and lots of SPIKE Shooters!

I’m going to be back in CO, near Atlanta (Athens), and DC in the coming weeks, so I need to scope out gyms in the area.

Tomorrow, back to the grind!

Your going to like Athens. Nothing like being at UGA. Great college town.

Cool. And Oct/Nov is probably a good time to go down there temperature wise, especially for a snowdog like me!! We’re already in the 40’s in the evenings with frost in the higher elevations!

Man, did I eat like shit this week, along with a bunch of short, lackluster workouts. I’m gonna scratch this week off as ‘FAIL’.

Will post sessions this afternoon…

Hit… a… wall… on that last set of rows. Weird. Maybe didn’t rest enough? I was doing about 60s between the supersets.

Nope - I think you tired out your mid back and biceps before you got to the rows.

I’ll bet if you put the rows first in the program, you’ll pull the same reps all three sets

Good call.

I sure am feeling it this morning, though. I think throwing that high rep range in once in awhile kicks the system in the ass a little.

I’m with Tiribulus-- I gotta get my ass out of the Political forum…

So I lost track, Are you coming out to Colorado or not? Just wondering, take care for now.

Z-man:

Not permanently! The home office is in Fort Collins and I’ll be flying out there several times a year, but I’m not moving out there. However, I would love to. I have to convince the wife that she wants to live there  I love it out there. Went to grad school in New Mexico and spent some time in CO and the other big states. Hell, Ft.Collins is only about 40 minutes from Wyoming-- I’m saving for a ranch

  • Didn’t feel right. Can’t explain. Did one rep, racked it. Don’t know if the concentration wasn’t there, but it wasn’t comfortable so I moved on ::shrug::

Leg presses were brutal. My goal was 100 reps for LP’s and Calves. I can’t walk this morning
