WooHoo! That kind of PR doesn’t happen often at all. Are you goning to need to move the family?
Holy smokes - 50% increase! How’d you swing that?
soldog-- yeah, eventually. I negotiated where I can work out of my current home while I try to sell the house so the kids can finish out their school year. They put a 10 month time frame in there (good faith).
I’ll have to move from Maine to near Philly (S.Jersey), but that’s OK, I grew up there so family is there. Maine is “home”, but I can always come back if I have to.
Skid-- Turns out ‘specialization’ in my field for the past 15 years paid off. I have exactly what they need and am willing to take ‘The Northeast’ region to do it. Right now, they have to fly folks from GA or CO to do work in PA, NJ, DE and New England.
Right place, right time… ![]()

Sounds like a good deal all around. I bet they would be willing to buy the house or pay realtor fee for you if you were willing to move earlier or the house has problems selling in this market.

SteelyD, your progress has been astounding to me. It is also giving me some inspiration for my fall and winter training. I’m not so interested in size but in strength and the size that comes with strength.
I’m also a bit more shy of gaining fat as compared with you (10 more years on the odometer will do that to a person). I need to figure out a plan for a “winter of strength” with appropriate goals and benchmarks.
Keep on plugging away and posting your efforts. I think these logs have more value than we might think here in our little group.
Soldog -
Thank you for the kind words. I’m humbled that anyone even reads my log, let alone gets some inspiration or anything useful out of it.
It certainly has been a fun and interesting journey this summer.
We all just keep grinding through it day by day by week.
I agree that the logs, especially those in this forum have tremendous value. I’m continually impressed, influenced, and inspired by the folks in this Old Farts forum ![]()
Keep on goin’ dog!
