Should I Use Surge?

Ok, so I’ve heard good things from people about Surge. What I’ve recently been doing PWO is just making a shake with 100% Whey Protein and fruit for a 2:1 carb to protein ratio.

While I’m sure that is a decent way to go with PWO, certain people here seem to think Surge would be a much better option. If anyone has any conclusive evidence for this or can just tell me a good reason why Surge would be better then I will go ahead and buy it today as I am just about out of my Whey. Thanks.

The fructose doesn’t give as high of an insulin spike as glucose and the other one that’s in there (sorry, forgot which one).

Plus, the type of whey protein that’s in there is a faster acting whey than most others, and normally tastes terrible, but Biotest somehow found a way to make it taste good.

It also has amino acids which is even faster absorbing than whey.

I have to say, given how cheap and great tasting Surge is, why play ametuer chemist?

good enogh for me

The potential issue of using fruit is that fructose has to be processed by the liver before it can become available for creating a glucose and hence insulin spike. That takes time -during which catabolism can occur.

The glucose and especially the maltodextrin in Surge will create a rapid and relatively intense glucose/insulin spike in the shortest time possible, which is, according to recent research that I’ve read on here, best for halting the catabolic effects of a good workout.

That’s one of the major upsides of Surge.

Have you read any of the articles?

Good advice above from Charles Staley.

Let me put it like this: you’re already pouring your blood and guts into your training…why not get optimal peri-workout nutrition so you can see the best gains?

At the very least, pick up two jugs, try it for 6 weeks, and see what you think. It couldn’t hurt to experiment with it.

If you can afford it, abso-effing-lutely use Surge. I’ve had the best recovery using it, bar none.

Unfortunately, I can’t afford it right now. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr…
