I need advice. Whats the best way for me to fix myself? I really dont want to come clean to my doctor… but i did everything wrong off and on for so long that private lab blood work will show that i need serious help, most likely long time help . This all is vag but im not gonna make this post any longer. My hormones are so out of whack that i had flu like symptoms, bad sweats, severe anxiety, moody as hell, almost went to the ER. Should i just start with private blood work and post it here with my stats and go from there?
In my opinion, you should find a doctor that treats men with hormone deficiencies. You should tell that doctor what you have been doing, though once your lab results are available, he/she will probably have a good idea. Odds are your PCP will not be able to help you, either with necessary labs or treatment. However, depending on your relationship, you could start there and see what happens. Good luck.
You could post here to learn from others’ experiences.
Thanks for the advice. Its all my own fault. Im a month out from having insurance again. Im just in a hard spot because they will try jacking with my daily medication, or maybe not cover my treatment since it was self made. Its either that or suffer.
That’s for sure. What are you trying to do get clean, go back to naddy?
Are you trying to get med ins to pay for TRT? Good luck with that.

Evaluate your overall thyroid function by checking oral body temperatures as per the thyroid basics sticky. Thyroid hormone fT3 is what gets the job done and it regulates mitochondrial activity, the source of ATP which is the universal currency of cellular energy. This is part of the body’s temperature control loop. This can get messed up if you are iodine deficient. In many countries, you need to be using iodized salt. Other countries add iodine to dairy or bread.

I can be a bit abrupt in my replies and recommendations. I have a lot of ground to cover as this forum has become much more active in the last two years. I can’t follow threads that go deep over time. You need to respond to all of my points and requests as soon as possible before you fall off of my radar. The worse problems are guys who ignore issues re thyroid, body temperatures, history of iodized salt. Please do not piss people off saying that lab results are normal, we need lab number and ranges.
The value that you get out of this process and forum depends on your effort and performance. The bulk of your learning is reading/studying the suggested stickies.
Get clean if i can. Im 29 and my girl and I were gonna try having a child in a couple years. I dont feel alive. I cant focus, i shake, sweat is unreal, mood swings and rage, brain fog, confusion at times, dizziness, testies are so tight and small. I winged my pct on and off for 3 years. Blindly did my letro, anastrozole, tamoxifen. I had major issues producing my own test. Several times i tried resetting and i felt so sick.
It’s important you be straight with your doctor, something is needed to explain why you have a hormone deficiency. If not the doctor could conclude there’s nothing wrong with you since no reason exists to explain your condition, it could be helpful in getting treatment.
Don’t just focus of the TRT aspect, a lot of men come here with low thyroid function and are told by their doctors they are fine when you are not, often it’s the insurance pulling the strings denying you treatment because the insurance company will do what it can to not have to pay for treatment.
Don’t ignore oral body temperatures, it’s the best way to determine thyroid status!
Thank you for the advice. I have alot to learn. My worries are there still though of course, they might pull my adhd meds and open a new can of worms. Been on the medication for years. But i gotta focus on the bigger issue i guess. Thanks again.
These medications lower hormones, I’ve been on ADHD meds all my life up until a few years ago and is what caused my hormone imbalance, research is showing these drugs cause pituitary dysfunction lowering testosterone and causing thyroid problems.
The body treats these drugs/chemicals like a virus invading the body which causes side effects, over time they cause more problems than they solve often forcing you to stopping them long after the damage is done.
Wow. I had no idea… i apperciate all the help. Something to bring up when i get to my doctor.
