That’s awesome, thank you. Also, you said you were in similar situation like me. What is your injection frequency? I heard of possible, do 2-3 injects a week instead of one big one to prevent side affects.
Yeah that was with me taking a bunch of zinc. I read that high SHBG can also make total T look higher than it is, but not sure why.
If you don’t mind me asking, how do it change your life? I definitely want to be driven and clear minded again let alone confident. Feel like I’m soo indecisive lately, which is probably why I’ve been hesitant to initially start TRT.
Well I was always confident but I had a filter when people said crap. That could be good or bad but now I don’t take nonsense from anyone . Not saying I cause problems but I don’t like drama . Also I’m more open minded , clear headed , take risks when appropriate. Just things I wouldn’t do naturally . Opened up a more advanced life . It’s different for everyone . Can help them or hurt them . Gym life is awesome looks is awesome job is awesome wife complains about how high my sex drive is but ya lol
Most people get prescribed TRT for low testosterone. I had 770 and 750 total T, but my SHBG was higher than yours resulting in very low free T. I was just saying, my issue was similar and TRT made a huge difference.
Got it. What is your injection frequency and dosage? I don’t know if it’s my indecisiveness or what, but for some reason im nervous to take TRT even though deep inside I feel like it would help me a lot.
Did you do the clinic route or were you able to get a prescription through your health provider? Were there complications when you started on the beginning?
When I first started, I was prescribed 140mg/week. After 10ish weeks, blood tests showed I hadn’t improved. They increased me to 160mg/week. I then moved to Defy and they upped me to 180mg/week (around 4 months in to TRT). For my first year I did twice a week. Right around a year in, my bloods showed SHBG mid-range and my free test quite high. So, I dropped my test down to 160mg for six months. Then, switched to once a week injections this past summer. After most recent bloods, I now do 140mg/week once a week. Since my SHBG dropped to mid-range, I don’t need as high of a dose anymore.
What exactly is your hesitation? My only initial hesitation was injections. I wasn’t too fond of the thought.. but, honestly, I don’t think twice. It’s painless and takes only 5 minutes once a week.
Trt clinic yes . Just a little acne on chest and shoulders , nothing severe . After being on it for a bit I don’t get any pimples anymore .
Hesitation is the stigma of “steroids”. Feel like im almost doing something bad. lol
Also the fact I’ll most likely have to do it for the rest of my life. I may be even delusional that maybe my body still has a chance to get through this naturally. I used to be big on fitness and such and just surprised this is happening. But i’m also in a situation in my life where I can’t really afford to be how I am with the brain fog and motivation. I’m at a point where I find it hard to even have conversations, like I stutter sometimes (at least more than usual). FYI I do have past experience with SSRIs which I have a feeling may have caused this, but have no proof.
It’s interesting that once a week works better for you. Is there any weird side affects from doing that? I heard larger doses once a week can cause estrogen to raise, but I guess everyone’s body is different. I thought maybe mimic our natural system would be better. I think our body does little spurts of testosterone on a daily basis.
What dose and frequency do you do? Was there trial and error to find a sweet spot.
I had that feeling too.. but my wife pushed me to solve my problem. Once I saw it as medicine, I let go the stigma. That said, I played a college sport with a few people who used AAS, so I’ve always been close to it.
I disnt get any benefit in more frequent. No noticeable difference. I can’t speak to others, but I’ve seen folks post about it on here. Sometimes I think it’s in people’s heads. My friend was prescribed 350mg once every two weeks. He later switched to 175/week, because of highs and lows.
Man..you have to just dive in . Stop asking basic questions. Start with 100 mgs a week… go from bloodwork and how you feel. I tried 100 , 120, and 140 before I found sweet spot so 150mg my sex drive is great and my blood pressure is good and everything is fine on my blood test. You have to dive in and make adjustments for yourself what works for you
For sure. Did you need any AI (estrogen blockers) or were you successful with just TRT?
Got it thank you. Did you have any problems with estrogen or were you pretty balanced once you found the sweet spot?
Every once in awhile I take .125mg. I’m pretty stable on my dose. Nothing else.
