I went to the doc because I had a bone scan (they were giving them for free at work) and found that my bone density was low. The pamphlet they gave me said that the number one reason guys have low bone density was low T.
I went to the doc and found I was low in T and Vitamin D
My T was 271 ng/dl, SHBG is 17 nmol/l, FT was 7.3, Vit D 25 OH was 27 which is defined as “sub-optimal”. TSH was 1.5
The doc prescribed vitamin D and 100mg-200mg t-cyp a week, and told me to try different amounts of the t-cyp until I found what works best.
I had asked him to test for estrogen but he declined.
I have my meds…I am taking the vitamin D, but should I try the t-cyp, or wait until I get further testing?
PSA is .5 (<4.0)
FSH is 7.5 (1.3-11.4)
LH is 3.3 (1.2 - 7.8)
Question…my previous test for me testosterone was done at 2:00 PM. I read on this forum that afternoon numbers are lower than morning numbers. Is there a chance that my T numbers are fine? I’m probably going to get retested. I’d rather not go on TRT if it isn’t necessary…

Get a blood test in the morning to know your morning values.
Those results you just listed are not thyroid tests.
Since the test I have started 100mg/week T-cyp injections, and Arimidex 1mg/week
The low DHT is probably the result of Avodart for the last 5 years…I have discontinued taking it. Not sure why my DHEA is in the toilet…
I could probably get by with not doing TRT at all, although I would probably feel better if it were between 600-800 total.
I assume I can just take OTC DHEA supps to get my DHEA up? And just wait for the avodart to work its way out of my system to get my DHT up? The low DHT probably explains why I have lost almost all of my body hair…
